How do you connect "small lights" to power?
How do you connect "small lights" to power?

When building a settlement, you can place hanging light bulbs and ceiling fans. However there does not seem to be a way to connect them? How do I do that?

Having the same problem, asked the same question an hour ago (nobody answered yet)
This might bump your question though.

Build a generator, then build a conduit. I prefer ceiling conduits, but there are several. Connect generator to conduit with wire by pressing space on the generator and then on the conduit. Make sure it's near your powered devices.

Just put a conduit/connector somewhere nearby (even on the outside wall of the room with your lights) and connect that to a generator. Small lights & TV just have to be within a certain radius of a power port.

I feel like we're supposed to be electricians in real life in order to play this...

here is what I do. go into the wood structures area and find the ladders\stairs. make a pathway to a buildings roof. place a few (small house = 5) of the wood power lines. (1 centered on house, 4 additional usually set in from the 4 corners). connect those to your main power lines. and place lights inside with recless abandon. those 5 power lines make sure that power spreads to a entire building. And I can confirm they can be place on top of 2 story houses and the power will still propogate down to the first floor.

Additionally you could do what i did to sanctuary hills. I used the tall metal power lines (without the switch) and lined the streets with them. spaced as far apart as possible. Those conect to each other, with a single line that then runs to a switched tower and on to the generator field (8 large generators). Now there is power making a loop all around Sanctuary hills. for easy tapping anywhere.

You underestimate what is required to be an actual electrician :p

You need to read system requirements more clearly in the future. "Minimal requirements: BS in Electrical Engineering, Recommended requirements: M.S in Electrical Engineering"

jeez.
if being an electrician was as easy as holding V, pressing E a couple times then lining it up and smacking it down then damn we pay those guys too much.

i connected a generator to a conduit in the ground and that seemed to light up everything in the house I put the conduit in.

Thanks. Just wish that it did not have such a limited range.
