Vault-Tec Orchestrated the War? [early, early game spoilers]

(btw, I'm not very far into Fallout 4 yet; established Sanctuary, helped one other settlement and had fun building mostly)

As we dive again into the world of Fallout, are we learning a more sinister plot point in Vault-Tec's plans? Did they (help) orchestrate the nuclear war? Bit of a new world order twist?

The vault social experiments couldn't of happened without a catastrophic event like this.

We're greeted by a Vault-Tec rep who's in a bit nervous and in a rush to get you signed up for vault 111. When the bombs do drop, a few minutes later, the rep seems more surprised that he's not being let into the vault than with the bombs dropping.

Going into the vault, the entire staff is there open and ready for business. There's never any computer entries about how boring and pointless it is waiting around for nuclear war. Not a single one in any Fallout game.

Could just be coincidence too, it's easy to spin anything as a sinister plot. With this new installment in the Fallout universe, the storyline now has a new world order feel woven into it for me.

Curious about other's thoughts.

I keep thinking the same thing every time i play through, the way things seem is that vault tec either had a hand in starting the nuclear war or they had advanced knowledge of approximately when it would go down. I think it's likely that they had agents all over and knew that things were boiling over and the missiles where being prepd and where trying to get everything sured up. But then it kind of gets contradicted by the vault 88 dlc where the person in charge of some of the important experiments and with direct communication to the head of vault tec didnt even get the vault partly started when the bombs fell. So idk what the true intent of all this is because it seems like they contradict themselves all the time for the sake of creating content, so maybe there isnt really anything deeper and its all just bs made up to entertain at the moment with no deeper meaning, or there is a deeper meaning and they just cant tell a proper deep lore based story without tripping over their own feet.

Vault-Tec did not orchestrate the war. Basically the government assumed nuclear war was inevitable and accepted bids for companies to install secure places for people to liveout the nuclear holocaust. Vault-Tec placed the cheapest bid and in addition to some well made bribes secured a monopoly on all vault related contracts throughout the entire country. They then decided to become a stupid evil company for no reason with employees who were also stupid evil for no reason even though it didn't make sense for the employees to continue being stupid evil since that worked against their own best interests and makes no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sense.

If you no that the vault is the only safe place for you and your children then why would you give a bunch of reformed drug addicts drugs? It makes no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sense.

As far as I know Vault Tec was created by the government in order to preserve the citizens from cities from the imminent nuclear war. Later It was observed that the government was doing experiments with those citizens on some vaults, other vaults remained just to defend people but something or someone went crazy inside It, creating a huge mess.
USA created vaults, but other nations didn't have this lucky ( there'nt expecting this).
The war is between USA and China. Most of the games just show USA states but in fact all world was affected by this war. ( All a huge desert with some radiation water lakes).
War happens in 2045 to 2076.( It's explicited that nuka cola was helped by the government when they built It in 2050 back when war was happening)
Perhaps in Future games we'll see another country as plot theme with highways and damaged cities.

the fallout 2 enclave president says it was china who fired because the usa had them pushed to braking point with the power armored troops. i know the enclave arent trust worthy but they have no reason to lie to you given they expect you die and gain nothing by lying even if you escape.

Literally a plot point in the planned film before it was cancelled was that the Vault-Tec CEO (SOMEHOW???) detonated a nuke and started the great war.

Plus it was a CANCELLED FILM, so NOT CANON.

I believe that to be the most likely scenario, but they did a good job of hiding the truth if they did. The reality is, it's been 200 years and it doesn't matter anymore.

It was the Xeno aliens! Also yes your right Vault tec was being run by alien replacements by the time of the war.

The Institute is nothing but an alien front keeping the alien operations on Earth going. Not sure what happened but 2 giant alien ships were taken out in Fallout Zeta.

In fact Fallout Zeta explains why there is trash everywhere and cars in trees and alot of things.

Also Alien ships are being shot out of the sky even in Fallout 4.

Yep and they captured Vault-Tec bosses to get that under control as well. So it wasnt the government or even Vault-tec performing the experiements on the vaults it was aliens from space, the Xeno's AKA Zetans.

The aliens had been capturing humans and performing experiments on them for hundreds of years before they started running Vault-tec and then soon after started the war.
