World Map to small?
Is it me, or does the map seem too small? Or is it because the map markers are so huge?

Yes, it's smaller than Fallout 3 and about half the size of Skyrim. But they hyped it that it was bigger!! Is there another map to the sout, nothing to the north and 1/3 of the map is water!!

Feels bigger but not in the way some think of it. Skyrim was big but all the places had great distance between them (empty space of no use other than walking), not to mention the mountains that you couldn't climb. When I first started FO4 I was worried about the map I saw........ I now have 20+hrs and havn't been south of the "castle" or Dimond city or w/e. After some time It's feeling massive just because of all the buildings.

Sorry but your scales are wrong on your gif file overlays. Pace it out. I have 34 hours in and already at Diamond City. The map is definately smaller than both Fallout 3, New Vegas and Skyrim.

I think you're missing what's beign said about "pace." You can walk from one end to the other faster because there are no massive moutains in the way. As in, the picture map of Skyrim can be massive but the playable area can still be close to or less than FO4. Hope that clears thigs up.

pace or stride ... an I see the amount of water in the game the same as the mountains in Skyrim. An btw I have climbed the mountain and found neat stuff up there ... FO4 map is smaller ... not that the map is BAD, cool map, but they hyped it as being BIGGER ... maybe with the upcoming DLC's!

I was anxious before playing this game when i heard the map was small, but upon playing it
for alot of hours, i haven't even discovered 1/6.
Maybe i'm just a slow-arse.

Now that I can agree with. I don't feel it's as big as Skyrim but I don't feel that it's too small either.

Fo4 has a lot more nook and crannies

Remember that game worlds are vertical too. Fallout 4 has lots of superstructures and multi-story structures that are well ahead of anything in the Fallout series and certainly Skyrim.

Yes it is small.

Negative. They have never said it was "bigger!" todd howard/pete hines had said multiple weeks prior to release that it was smaller than F3 or Skyrim. You need to read up on your facts before you make yourself look silly.

FO4 has FAR more enterable buildings, and the world is a lot more interesting / interactive overall. The cities are pretty damn detailed too. 30 hours in and I've only seen about 1/4 of it I think.
