Good find ;)
As for the reward being the wrong type of gun, that is just a poor job of quality control and editing.
think of ways to utilize what it does. like sending supermutants flying from the rooftops and headfirst into the concrete ground.
or simply a few shots on boss like enemies to make them pretty much a pig on the slaughterbench.i encountered a legendary deathclaw at level 60 and smashed it with the artifact for fun before i killed it off with my plasma infused minigun.
yeah i had my doubts about its usefulness too when i saw the numbers after obtaining it. but when i saw what it could do to the enemies all doubt was gone.
Possible, I think the projectile on the Zeta Gun is smaller, and the blast appears to be just a tad smaller, and of course a unique red color. I also unintentionally got two of them, because I stole one from his house, and upon starting the last quest in his series the gun had reappeared in his lab. He's either super good at making them or...
Something else I remember, if you side with Jack, he kills lorenzo with a massive dose of "Zeta" radiation . Perhaps the Zeta Gun utilizes this same technology, and it is indeed a typo?
I mean, I've never seen it make anyone fly unless they died already. It just creates knockback with every shot while still only doing 25dmg? Unless there's a hidden feature of it that I don't know about.
I think you are right that the damage numbers don't reflect the truth.
I meant that the Zeta Gun( the one you can find in his house on the table) did higher damage despite only saying it does 20. The artifact gun is the one you get for the quest, and is essentially just a pistol that cripples and gives them the minor knockback effect on every shot, but is laughably underpowered in terms of damage.
And you gain Immortality, no radiation problems ever and a nice strength bonus from that.
So I take the Zeta Gun and Immortality, rather than lorenzo's artifact gun.
I mean he was reportedly murderously mad when he came back from the alien city or something.
And this information is from whom? I guess you say it's from the son.
Actually the son is the one who imprisoned him for 350+ years, drained him of his blood to become immortal and never really figured out how to cure him because it suited him just fine?
His son has one heck of a conflict of interest here. I wouldn't believe a word he is saying. Especially if you look how he handles the rest of his family.
So you think he was just admitted to an insane asylum for no reason whatsoever?
Rightio...
We actually don't know either way.
But considering Lorenzo takes pleasure in the fact that the Commonwealth is essentially a lawless place and he can do whatever he wants with ultimate power, I doubt he's a nice guy...
