The Crater of Atom
I was really pumped to get there, only to find out it was pointless. Seriously? Children of Atom and no high end gear or boss to face? Consider me disappointed, Bethesda.

Just go Deathclaw hunting in the Glowing Sea.

Trust me.You will one day find a Legendary Deathclaw and die horribly.

The glowing Sea has some pretty good gear but you have to go looking.

I'm just mostly talking about the actual crater itself. You'd think the rads would be off the scale. Nope. You'd also think the best of the best loot would be there or something.

It's your difficulty.

Well the nuke blew up 210 years ago so the rads lessened.

Why? Its trivially easy to get there with a radsuit or PA.

no but to be fair, I found a magazine that gave me 50% more damage to ghouls, and plus if you can take one of their Gamma guns its really good against humans (and only humans) it does like 250 radiation damage. I play on Medium.

Personally, I find Legendary Mirelurks more challenging. They seem to do a lot more damage than the Deathclaw.
im just scared of finding a legendary assaultron, the normal ones go down fast enough but the laser always 1 shots me XD

Funny as I'm playing Survivor with stats in Charisma and Intellegence, but okay.

It's still ground zero.
Is it really absolutely pointless right now? I mean, I've gone through there on two different playthroughs now, and the fact that characters there have names (in fact, several have unique names as opposed to the generic 'Child of Atom' name) leads me to believe something more can be done there. So, it seems like there should be at least *something* more to it, maybe something that doesn't occur unless a sub-quest starts elsewhere and takes you back there.

On the other hand, Crater of Atom, like a few other spots, feels like something that might have no real functionality *now*, yet was put in for when a *later-on* DLC is implemented.

Quickest way to test this, if there's something more, is to save, then go buck wild on the crazies. If they all die/none are essential, then there's probably nothing of consequence set to happen there.

What were you wearing at the time?
T-60b set. Even without the armor (quicksaved to test) it was still a pitiful amount of rads considering the location.

Had a legendary glowing alpha deathclaw attack one of my settlements the other day.

♥♥♥♥♥♥ took 3 fat man shells to down.

All I got for it was the stupid knee-capping wrench
