XDI status fail
Ok so i'm playing with mods and when I talk with coddsworth it says "F4SE:OK XDL status:Fail
XDI is not running make sure that XDL.dll is in your Data/F4SE/plugins directory" is it something to with ui mods like Def_ui or Full dialogue interface? Can someone help me?

One-word answer: Yes.

It means that there's an issue loading one of the essential files for Extended Dialogue Interface, also known as XDI. Specifically, the Fallout 4 Script Extender (F4SE) failed to locate the file which allows XDI to work in the location it's expecting it to be (Data/F4SE/Plugins).

This usually is a result of user error, but can be caused by hiccuping mod managers as well. If you installed it manually, you installed it into the wrong sub-folder (folders used to be called directories, decades ago). If that's the case, go root around in your Data folder under Fallout 4's install path (which, by default with Steam, is C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4\Data) and see if the file (XDL.dll) is there. If it is, move it to the proper folder (full path would be by default C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4\Data\F4SE\Plugins).

If that doesn't work, then I suggest waiting for somebody who knows more than I do to help.

Directly conflicts with FDI, afaik, so yeah, you don't want to run both.

I'm having the same issue, I manually installed but also use LOOT to sort. The only file in there is XDL.esm, no XDL.dll. There was no XDL.dll in the zip when I downloaded and extracted.

I like how this has been an issue for years now and it still isn't resolved. I've copied the XDI file into pretty much every single folder I have for Fallout 4 and it STILL isn't working, which is hilarious considering it worked on the second launch when I didn't do anything, but now it refuses to work at all.

XDI still needs an update before it runs again with the updated game. As far as I know has there not been an update to it. So you have to play with the previous game version. The same goes for the MCM.

XDI is broken since the next gen update. take a look at its nexus page, read the creators note and stop posting senseless topics here.

TL;DR - XDI hasn't been updated yet

There is an updated beta/test version of XDI you can get from Discord thats currently working. It'll be uploaded to nexus eventually but for now you have to get it there:
https://discord.gg/BSSm9m9
(scroll up to Neanka's post)

You'll also need the latest versions of F4SE and MCM for it to work.

Because the thread is several years old.

Never just jump on a discord link while you're on Steam. It has been and continues to be a problem for people who don't understand internet safety and get their steam creds stolen from a random discord thief.

You don't need to do anything on a discord, if the product is on Nexus.

For anyone having the issue, just download the 1.4 version. I installed using Vortex and it's working fine.
Here is the link to the nexus:
