How to run Fallout 4 WITHOUT Steam!!
Steam seems to be interfering with loading of FO4. My last loading took 5 minutes!! It seems to be a function of time of day and day. Can I load FO4 independent of STEAM???

Not totally. You can use NMM to launch the game, but that does not eliminate using the Steam DRM.

I launch with NMM and since I downloaded the patch my load times are Much shorter. Used to take up to 40 seconds and that's been at least cut in half.

Steam is the games DRM so you cannot run it without it. Have you looked in your save folder to see how large it is filewise? I deleted over 700mb of saves from my folder within the game load screen and it started loading faster for me. I am also on SSD which makes loading pretty quick anyways but the excessive amount of files did cause some slow down anyways.

Thnx ... I'll try it ... but certain days and times of days the game loads faster. Don't know why except that maybe peeps are on Steam.

I bought a retail copy of Fallout 4, thinking I could avoid steam, since it sucks, but the only thing on the disk of Fallout 4 is the authorization to download it (from steam). Otherwise, all there was on the retail copy was the files to install steam. I guess we are stuck with this stupid program to run our games. Almost makes me want to go to a console.

Consoles have their own set of restrictions and garbage to deal with.

Try starting steam in offline mode.

(I'd say steam is one of the flakiest apps I have ever seen and it seems to be getting worse.)
