Fallout 4 does crash to desktop sometimes but not enough to be a major problem.
Do you have weapon debris setting turned on in FO4 settings? If so turn it off.

thanks you for adding a much more detailed explanation. Idk about the author here, but i tried all that and it didn't work for me. i guess i'll just hope the update fixes it. fingers crossed!
All I did ( from past experience with the game on a older system ) was make sure I had the refresh rate set to 60hz for the desktop in Windows 11 and the resolution matches what is set for the game. Playing Full Screen. 1440p.
Never messed with any .ini files.
It plays smooth and is very stable. I don't however, use any outside source mods or quick save.
do you just change your monitor refresh rate right on the desktop?
Yes. The resolution is important also. The game at this time, does not support some resolutions.
