No more Steam Deck?

After updating, and hitting play, it thinks for a minute, and then just goes back to the library. Any Deck users figured out a way to play yet?

yea they broke game on steam deck, preset settings (no laucher on steam deck) low settings preset, frame issue and setings not works :/

That sucks lol. I remember it running smooth as butter on the OG Deck and figured I'd get back into it on my OLED, but I guess not?

Oh well, hopefully they fix it, but I can wait. Still, if anyone's figured a workaround, do let me know.

Should work fine on the LED models.

Edit: Someone also helpfully posted the workaround and OP helpfully updated their post. That's the community doing their bit.

Go to settings and under properties/general/launch options, type this:
SteamDeck=0 %command%

Launcher is now back.

I did a reverify files check in properties which got me back in to the game.

Thanks for the replies, everyone! I was just painstakingly going through all of the compatibility options, and I did manage to get it working using Proton 8.0-5 as well.

I guess they donked the defaults up, but there are various fixes, so this is good news. Hopefully everyone's solutions as well as compatibility settings helps OLED players get back in if they want :)

Yeah, ProtonGE 9.2 is smooth and runs great!

GE wouldn't launch for me, Proton 8.0-5 was the only one that launched, and I don't even see ProtonGE 9.2 on my compatibility options, I'm either doing something wrong, or it's not available for the Deck just yet.

you must download prothon ge on deck xd
download from store on desktop ptorhonqt in that application downlaod prothonGE latest version and set compatibility in game

How? There's no option to download additional ones, there's just a list of available ones.

I'm docked running 1080p/60ps at high/ultra settings and it's running great. I go have my VRAM set to 4gb in the bios and am running Cryoutilities, if either of those make a difference. I'm not having the same issues many are describing. Although I understand any one setting can have a negative effect on different hardware.

Just goes to show that "verified" is meaningless sometimes and I wish Valve was a bit more strict about it than they are.
