I will also say that any junk you have in your workbench will auto scrap when you build something that needs part of that item and placing the other components in the workbench.
There are mods that break down junk items into shipments but haven't had any experience with other equipment. If anything there the conveyor built system (and mods for them) might have what you're looking for.

You can scrap all armor at an Armor Workbench and all weapons at the Weapons workbench, and you get more components with the Scrapper perk. (edit: I think you need a mod like Legendary Modification to scrap legendaries)

For junk I use Compact Crafting. It adds an All In One workbench that will scrap all junk in your inventory. Only downside is that workbench is multiple NPCs can use it simultaneously.

Scrap-O-Tron 2000

Takes all junk (no armor or weapons) and breaks it down into the prime components. Then you can export it to your inventory or the workbench.

I fund it to be very useful for when I wanted to take out specific amounts of materials.

From what I understand - the only reason you truly want to scrap things(other than having pure inventory) is to bring down your settlement size.

If your using mods just dump everything in your workbench and don't worry about it - you can also just give yourself infinite inventory and go from settlement to settlement and build things that way - and I think there is mods that allow you to not even worry about settlement sizes.

If your doing raiders - then the settlements you make with raiders automatically share inventory.

If your doing settlers I think you can get them to trade with other settlements somehow(I haven't done that yet) then you can put everything to one and just draw from that.

If your biggest concern is settlement size and don't want to use mods - not much you can do about it other than dropping that junk and scarping it - I would wait till you get at least 10(I think 7 is the minimum) of an item that way you can drop it in bulk and scarp it as 1 - it counts towards the settlement size and the quantity of the item(If you drop like 10 pencils in bulk - you'll get 10 lead instead of 1 as an example.)

You don't really need mods to do what you want, assuming you're just trying to clear settlements for building. You just need the console active.

- Find the workshop in the settlement and look at it
- Open the console with ~ and click on the workshop (if it is raining this might not work, you will need to get close)
- Type 'scrapall' without quotes.

This will scrap everything in the settlement and deposit the materials in the workbench.

I've read that is dangerous sometimes. Something along the lines of it messing with meshes, idk. I may be way off, but i know there's been threads and discussions about using 'scrap-all'

Misnomer. There is a mod called "scrap-all", and yeah it can cause problems. It is different from the console command.

Nope, i meant the CC 'scrap-all' not the mod. But yes i also agree scrap-all mod can be a bit wonky. I tend to go the route of Scrap-everything mod with the scrap-zapper added to it. Works wonders. Love that lil thing lol.

Are you using this ok with the NG update.?
Is it considered ok to add that to a game in play?

Thanks. Not sure how pointless, to a degree, it is but I prefer to break down items not considered to be needed or of value to their component parts and then added to the workbench.

This could be helpful, for you OP as well

I have just noted this one...

Portable Junk Recycler Mk 2

Does need F4SE and MCM tho.

I have not done the NG update yet, so not sure.
Yes, it can be added or removed at any time.

I found it EXTREMELY handy for Sim Settlements 2 because I use Tiered components so it was very handy to be able to sort out all my types of scrap so I could donate to the settlements and still have a reserve for building and crafting.

Thanks.
I have installed the one I listed and it works very well. I do like the umpteen options that it offers and does save a lot of time
