Washed out colors?
Somewhere around the time Nick started following me at some point during the mission my colors became washed out - similar to how it looks when you look through certain scopes. I assumed maybe the game was trying to pull a black-and-white theme for that mission to go with Nick's old detective style but it's still going on much later.

I thought maybe this is related to an addiction but turned out I'm not addicted to anything (would have been an interesting addiction effect though).

I messed with my settings thinking maybe I did something in those that effected it (I'd started lowering some things when the game started closing of it's own accord at points). I'm not really sure if I did anything there. It's still washed out whatever the case.

This washed out visual is still hanging around over a day later and I'm honestly finding it effects the enjoyment of thegame by now. It's kind of like trying to play a game in black and white. VATS, the hud, interface and menu screens are as vibrant as they've always been. So is the intro screen when you just watch the camera pan around a garage with power armor and knick-knacks in it. So I know it's not my monitor and probably not my settings.

Anyone know what's going on?

Also i recommend to you use this simple mod - Enhanced Color Correction http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/5060/?

"Fallout 4 Enhanced Color Correction (F4ECC) is a mod that aims to increase the quality of the visuals in Fallout 4 without drastically changing the look of the game. I liked the vibrant colors in the vanilla game, but at times areas felt "washed out" and a bit bland looking. This mod stretches the value range, making the shadows deeper and the highlights more vibrant. As a result, brighter areas feel more alive and darker areas are a bit darker. Additionally, F4ECC subtly boosts certain colors. Because of this, shadows have additional saturation and characters have more liveliness by introducing a subtle red tint."
