When Fo4 launches and i'm at the menu the mouse does not work nor does the keyboard?

im getting the same thing, if i press x i cant launch the game but cant access anything from there except move around and bring up the pip boy

This happened to me when I first bought and tried to play the game. The game assumed I was using a controller. I had to disable that feature in the menu and in the program files.

I think this is one of the steps I took:

"Those who cant get their mouse and keyboard to responds go to: C:\Users\Username\Documents\my games\Fallout4 and open fallout4prefs.ini . Find bGamepadEnable and set it to 0 and save. Dont do this while the game is started.
This way you dont need a controller to go to settings."

i didnt have one plugged in but i did last time i played the game, i plugged in my xbox one controller with the cord and did an update on the controller now its working with the controller and when i unplug it and use mouse and keyboard

Also, from the main menu, click on settings and make sure controller is off.

Starting up fallout 4 G.O.T.Y edition it seems to be fine but once at the main menu there is no sign of the mouse cursor nor any feedback from enter or other buttons this needs to be fixed ASAP,might as well fix the screen issue too so people don't need to run all over the place to fix it.

Perhaps an there's an overlay turned on from a program like Discord or your audio drivers or cpu/temp monitoring?

No? I don't know anything about that stuff,many companies have a lot of ♥♥♥♥ to fix and a lot of greedy ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ needing to do their jobs ex:developers and their errors/glitches/bugs.

Just use the Auto Gamepad Switch mod to seamlessly use either KB+M or Controller or both without worrying about what you left connected.

I don't know anything about mods and cant use them anyway because i cant use the base game and mods are too difficult to use idk why they have to complicate everything it should be as easy as pressing download mod not ♥♥♥♥ with files download this and do that,maybe the best thing to do is find Todd Howard and choke the corruption,greed and cockiness out of him along with several others
