Fix for Intel graphics cards
I'm getting 60 fps with an intel 4600 on the lowest windowed resolution (840x480) or an average 35 with the lowest fullscreen setting (1280x720). Interiors don't run so well though.

Add these to your custom fallout ini.

[General]
bUseCombinedObjects=0
bDisableAllGore=1

Turning off use combined objects fixes the texture stretching on everything except gore. Which includes robot and turret parts. Disabling gore fixes that problem.

Make sure you start a new game after setting these because that should guarentee you never run into any broken textures.

Other than that:

[Display]
iShadowMapResolutionPrimary=512
iDirShadowSplits=1
bAllowShadowcasterNPCLights=0

Is all I needed to severely improve fps. Note for shadow resolution: 256 or 128 can be set if you want but it doesn't seem to change performance to go lower for me.

Game hasn't crashed once since and on windowed mode I get no unusual lag for this game.

No, it is not. It is a perfect comparison.

OBJECT A requires the presence of HARDWARE B in order to have FUNCTION C.

A VEHICLE requires the presence of WINGS in order to have THE ABILITY TO FLY.
A COMPUTER requires the presence of A DISCRETE VIDEO CARD in order to have THE AVILITY TO PLAY HIGH-GRAPHICS GAMES.

It's called logic .... perhaps you've heard of it?

u so funny, why do u think, that I need save money?
Integrated Graphcis Chips were invented to be a cheaper alternative. Anyone who is insisting on playing the latest 3D/first-person games on Integrated Graphics, is either an idiot, a troll, or a cheap bastard. Or multiple of those, I guess; they're not mutually exclusive.

I just know what my computer can handle
No, apparently you don't. Or you'd realise that anything much beyond Farmville, and less than six to eight yeas old, is on the list of "nope can't do it" for your computer.

Stop spam here for buying GPU
Broken English left intact:

Stop spam here for making modern games work on antiquated and inadequate hardware.

Don't bother posting in this thread anymore. It's been infested with pests. Useless parasitical creatures that drain the life and joy from all those they interact. :steamfacepalm:

Agree, they are so stupid, that even can't understand it :) But its very funny, to see their but hurt, when integrated video done their gpu for 200-400$ )))

With some correction of ini files, I'm playing in Fallout 4 now. Of course, settings are minimum, but no friz and its still nice picture. All is working fine on integrated Intel HD Graphics 4600. *I hear sound of blowing assh0les mixed with "u should buy gpu")))*

Yeah so many people in this thread with a private profile. (wonders why).

I'd like to see footage of this, out of curiosity.

I took a screenshot a while ago and posted it, but didn't care enough to leave the link in this thread.

Edit: I found a snowglobe. It had some care in it. Guess it must have been from the 38 stash.

PS: The Vault-Tec Workshop was so underwhelming I stopped playing for a long time until about a month ago. I went exploring, killed a few critters and some more ghouls down in the under construction sections, removed some cave in debris, and got bored lining up poorly snapping sections of vault flooring tiles.

PPS: I think the best part of my fallout 4 experience has been the mod that lets you modify the legendary creatures rate. With the exception of scripted enemy spawns and anything that spawned when player level was under 5, everything is some form of legendary. It makes combat so much more challenging and the loot drops more meaningful.

Found this setting, which are working for me. Here are full list of settings, but I added changes only to Fallout4.ini

here are the settings. copy and save as fallout4.ini or replace all the lines in fallout4.ini with this file leaving this paragraph out. before copying these settings. let fallout 4 determine what your video card is. do not replace the line that shows your correct video card.

some additional info

make sure that ugrids is the same in both the fallout4.ini and fallout4prefs.ini. you may also want to turn fLightLODMaxStartFade=7000.0 to the default.

These settings are the original texture upgrade and degrade distances used by me. the ones the games uses are in the preferences, but mine cause major graphic glitches later in the game.

crashes can be prevented by keeping your computer voltage lower than you normally would for a modern video game. in windows set minimum and maximum cpu usage to 62 percent. I recently did a lets play in this channel where the game crashed on a feral ghoul while outside during the game. I have never experienced crashes inside buildings while Ive had it set to 62 percent but I did have a crash outside which I thought I had fixed. by putting the game in power saver with maximum performance as the gpu setting. I think this will allow me to play for longer with crashes. well see how long it last. In order to play with crashes set the minimum cpu usage to 42 and the maximum cpu usage to 42. One issue currently is that stairs do not work but I may have just had a glitchy savefile. It can be seen on part 2 of the intel graphics lets play. even changing maximum cpu speed to 42 will not fix all crashes still thinking of a workaround.
if you use my level2treedistance fade setttings and audio cache settings. the game in my experience has had less crashes. this means that although these settings decrease performance you wont notice it because youll be able to play at 62 percent.

iTextureUpgradeDistance1=1000
iTextureUpgradeDistance0=510
iTextureDegradeDistance1=1200
iTextureDegradeDistance0=600
These settings also need to be set to the default.
graphical glitches do exist when moving toward the car near the beginning of the freedom calls mission. they don't exist for any other part of the game so far but they can be really severe. however the texture problems are probably because these weren't at the default. I'll update this post to let you know how far I get in the game and what settings may need to change. unfortunately the game still crashes sometimes for no reason. If that's nothing new then at least youll have better graphics. If not, you may not
want to use my settings for uGridsToLoad= and
uExterior Cell Buffer= These settings were modified to prevent the game from going through an infinite loop while loading when doing the fallout 4 loading screen instead of loading instantly from new game. I have just beaten when freedom calls.
The only graphical glitch so far is a major graphical glitch near a pole a few feet before you enter the commonwealth. so far so good. i think i might make a lets play to check progress on the settings. ill stop uploading when I find another bug.
latest settings
to improve stability change these settings in fallout 4 prefs.ini
fMeshLODLevel2FadeTreeDistance=1024.0000
It will dramatically slow down the game but poles which were causing graphical glitches before no longer do so. However the game is much slower. not unplayable but it is a big map and I just started playing
enhance anti-aliasing is turned on in intel graphics settings. Im not sure if this is relevant.
These settings cause occasional freezes but so far no crashes and that is with fraps and at 62 percent cpu usage under windows power plan with enemies on screen.
bEnableAudioCache=1
iAudioCacheSize=64
iMaxSizeForCachedSound=64
change these settings under fallout4prefs.ini to allow explosions to work and to work without crashing the game.
[NVFlex]
bNVFlexEnable=1
iQuality=0
iMaxParticles2=3276
iMaxParticles1=1600
iMaxParticles0=600
