Wrex is better than Garrus. Grunt is better than Garrus. Garrus is honestly one the most boring "bro" characters that people like for some reason.

It is because Garrus is a team mate in all 3 games. Garrus and Tali were the only consistent parts of the Mass Effect games. While Liara is in all 3 games, as is Ashley/Kaiden and they can be chosen as team mates in 1 and 3, their personalities are so altered between 1 and 2 that the characters feel completely different. And then you spend all of Mass Effect 2 and some of Mass Effect 3 having completely childish "Nuh uh" "Yeha huh" arguments with Kaiden/Ashley about Cerberus, an organization that Shephard had no reason to remain in and that Kaiden/Ashley had no reason to believe Shephard was committed to.

Actually I didn't like Garrus in Mass Effect 2. But I always loved Tali throghtout all 3 games and was incredibly disappointed that femsheps couldn't romance Tali.

For me, a character doesn't have to be a grumbling badass-shotgun wielding-suicidal-maniac to be a great companion throughout the tremendous journey I had.

Don't get me wrong; Wrex and Grunt are hilarious characters, just not what I consider the sidekick to my Shepard.

Garrus, however, can not destroy a troop transport with an elbow drop. Then proceed to swing inside and beat the ♥♥♥♥ out of all the armed mercs singlehandedly.

Mass Effect was such a tremendous disappointment on every level that we still haven't gotten over it. Just seeing a picture of Kai Leng is enough to make me froth at the mouth.

I'm not willing to blame EA before I've seen actual gameplay - or better, played it myself. ;)
They rushed ME3 due to the hype, but it's surprisingly quiet around ME:A, so I haven't given up hope...yet!

They didn't rush DA:I either, but i was quite disappointed regarding gameplay. felt like a generic mmorpg, But ME is a shooter, so i hope they can't ♥♥♥♥ up that.

I actually liked Wrex, Liara and the VS doing their own thing in ME2, it helped them evolve into something more than just 'Shepards sidekick'. Sure, you should be able to influence some things, but they shouldn't be completely dependant on you to archieve anything.
