Boston airport has no runways.
I was wondering around boston airport when I noticed something odd......there are no runways. At first I thought maybe the planes were just vertical takeoff? as hard to believe as that would be, I wouldn't put it past the fallout universe. But one of the downed planes in the glowing sea has a black box that mentions boston airport clearing a runway for them in an emergency landing.......

Has anybody else noticed this? it's just a detail I find really wierd.... Is it sunk under the water or something?

Underwater are Airplane parts and rubble.
Probably thats whats left on the runway but i get where ya coming from.
But there is alot of unlogical stuff for example when you go to the exact place where the nuke hit that you see while you are on the elevator there is only a small ass crater with buildings standing around it.

Well yeah, but i've seen that mentioned before. When I googled the runway issue, it seemed nobody had yet pointed that out. I just found it odd is all.

That big crater in the glowing sea where the children of atom are is a pretty good bet.

The glowing sea? It's a huge crater, some stuff may have been left standing but most stuff is completely gone.
The big nuke that was supposed to destroy Boston missed the city, landing far to the south west, making the Glowing Sea. The small craters you see in Boston are are from smaller tactical warheads.

Are you sure that bomb missed? There is a very important military site there it makes sense that area was a target.

It missed..if not, there would not be big skyscrapers still standing downtown..im pretty positive it missed a exact target lock on boston..as another poster said, it went southwest, thus creating the glowing sea...and yea...those craters were from smaller nukes(probably like previous poster said..tactical)

If you want to think of something even more illogical, look at the size of the planes they were flying. A plane that size would require an extremely large nuclear reactor. A reactor so large that the majority of the plane would be devoted to power generation and shielding against the radiation from the nuclear fission products. There actually was a plane powered by a nuclear reactor and the majority of the plane was devoted entirely to shielding the pilots from the radiation.

The thing that really bothers me is the lack of windows on the skyscrapers and their really ugly color palette, baby blue and orange. Absolutely tasteless.

Agreed..maybe some great modders will fix them in the future..i know there are some really skilled ones out there..

huh....I had never thought of the skyscrapers not having windows....but now that you mention it they don't. With the exception of a couple here or there. Usually in an important office or something.

They were able to create mini fusion reactors so its not that far off they could safely power a plane of that size with less space, they were already using them in cars. Probably why they could put seats in the wings since there would be no need for fuel. The color palette is pretty common for a 50's era setting.

they dont have windows because tehn it would look horible outside

don't forget that most of the blast would have been contained underground

Nitpicking taken to the limits.

The airport is right on the waterfront, explore it a bit, use your imagination and then you can envision where the runways once were.

Ps: whether the bombs hit boston or not; ada specifically states that Boston did not take a direct hit.
