They unfortunately line up with the warehouse walls, not regular walls.

Upshot is they also should work with the Far Harbor barn walls (they seem to use the same model).

It is because the height of each floor is higher than every wall except the new warehouse pieces, meaning that you will need to rebuild every high rise structure around the elevator should you want to make use of one.

It is pretty sucky, to be honest. Those warehouse pieces share the wood texture, so they look pretty drab.

The elevators from Contraptions? They should snap to the floors directly.

Maybe what you're missing is that the BOTTOM of the elevator needs to snap to the floor panels around it, too; essentially, it already includes a floor piece of it's own.

Make your structures slightly elevated - e.g., lay out a floor, with the elevator's bottom snapped to it, and build your walls up from that.

the bottom is flush with the rest of the walls.

well thats kind of dumb tht they could not make them work with the other buildings

oh well rebuilding the house is what im going to have to do

On an upside, you can use concrete walls since they can stack on top of eachother. It'll probably suck if you want a window, though. (not that great, but still. It's an option.)

Has anyone been able to convince settlers to use elevators? Until that happens I'm not even bothering trying to set more up.

I know settlers can ride on the elevator if they stand on it when you push the button.

that's why I'm using them, don't want the plebs comming into my scrapwall tower stealing my Power Armor. :)

Just to have it said: If you plan to make a 4 Floor one: It dont snaps to existing Pieces - but you can Snap pieces to it.. Seems to be a Bug because it works on the 2 and 3 Floor one normaly :1033:

Oh and Bethestda; Make some other bigger Walls too :P

Bethesda doesn't communicate enough for us to know whether the variance in wall heights etc. is deliberate or not -- maybe this is their way of discouraging arbitrary mixing-and-matching and having individual structures adhere to a specific theme, maybe it's carelessness.

the barn walls work too, for sure.
the tiles for the barns and warehouses are the most versitile, and I think they realized the original metal and wood tiles were a little too short, so it seems the logic is to fit the elevator to the more versitle tile sets.

you can mix wood/metal/concrete and you can mix warehouse/barn.

it may seem stupid, but I appreciate the design improvements with each new set.

I found that the 4-floor elevator WILL snap ... on one side, only. One of the sides it can be entered from, specifically. The other three sides have to be completely clear of any other pieces, though,or it won't snap. Which seems to confirm that it's a (minor) bug. Definitely a (major) annoyance, regardless, though.

Barn and Warehouse walls are my go-to now, for another reason: it's easier to make an "indoor marketplace". If you just want it one floor, use sloped roof pieces and the shops will fit, pretty close against the walls. If you want two floors you will need to leave some open space; I've got a Market-and-cafeteria, where all the tables are up on a perimeter balcony. (Seating for 24, plenty for the typical 20-person pop limit.)

They fixed the thing about Settlers stealing power armor a while ago. Even if the bug has crept bag I expect the new display stands would help keep it from happening. Even if none of that did, the new logic switches and the power doors should be more than enough to lock settlers out of certain spots.
