Far Harbour ending doesn't make sense (spoilers)
I choose to side with the harbourmen and let the synth guy's crimes go under the rug, mostly because the other ending where he faces justice is bugged up the whazoo.
But after convincing the children of atom to blow themselves up, there was little else to do.

Isn't the point of siding with those factions to clear the fog from the island permanently?
The children of atom admit they were causing it, but even after blowing up the sub, it's still just as foggy.

There should be some sort of quest at that point to help them clean up the island permanently. :steamsalty:
Do you guys agree?
Was there and I just can't find it?

Bethesda doesn't like permanency because it gets in the way of Gameplay.

It's not a big deal for me personally. (I have a feeling it'd just be building a bunch of Condensors anyway)

The Children of Atom weren't causing the fog, it was there long before they set foot on the island. They just think it's Atom's will for the fog to completely swallow the island, so they see the fog condensers as an affront to their god.

They didn't cause it, they simply wanted it to spread, and wanted to preserve the fog for the island.
Not once is it specifically mentioned except by Captain Avery's asshat sidekick that they started it, but theres no proof or anything else mentioned that said they did, or showed they did.

Nope.
To be fair, you'd have to take out the children of atom since they'd object and the fog condensors don't do a great job at getting rid of the fog at all.

The "goal" of the DLC isn't to clear the fog, the "goal" is to create a stable situation. There are many ways to achieve that goal: destroy all three factions; destroy two factions in favor of the third; make two factions the puppets of the third; destory one and call in the Brotherhood/Institute to deal with a second; etc.

Actually there is.
If you get in good with children of the atom and go ask their leader about the fog, he admits they are spreading it.
So they didn't create it, but ARE somehow making it spread more fully.

That's why I expected their death to reduce the fog or allow us to eliminate it.

As both Uncle Ken and Longfellow said, the fog was nothing new, it had been as bad before, and will eventually recede on its own.

As for Tarkus saying he spread it - He's delusional. Like King Canute commanding the tides.

Even if that's true, we should be able to help the people find the source of it and eliminate it.
That is one of the synth guys goals, from what I understand.

Also, for anyone else reading this, there is a way to broker peace between all three equally.

If there is a source. I see it as the equivalent of the radiation storms throughout The Commonwealth. Not every problem can be fixed.

It's probably more along the lines of "we worship Atom so the Fog spreads bla bla!" and not actually spreading it, unlike properly explained how.

Honestly, if anything, I'd assume that setting off a nuke in the middle of the island would make the radioactive fogs even worse. Not sure why someone would expect it to somehow make them better.

It is said that since the children of Adam arrived the fogs lethality has gotten worse(it's gotten deadlier and deadlier) so, by "spreading it" it could just mean that, he and the children are making things worse. the fog has always been there yes, but it has gotten worse. so what I think happens if you remove the children is any pockets of "Deep Fog" turns into just normal Fog and normal Fog becomes less, the island will always look Foggy and have the Fog, but doing certain things has helped decrease the amount of Fog(at least that I've noticed).
Lord Nighthawk Jul 16, 2024 @ 3:45pm
And after only 8 years you come with this?
Holy gravedigger.
If someone says the fog got worse since the faction he hates arrived - maybe he just hates the faction and lost any sight of the fogs dense at all. If i have pain and check all the time if it´s still there - it will not go away and even intense cause - brain works that way.
The fog is the same as always, varying here and there as it always did. The children have absolutely nothing that could intense the fog in any way.
