yea..don't get it in the 1st place.lol. You can actually make it thru that dungeon if your careful and not get close to them....But there is a bug where your companion can contract it and spread it to you..and even the protectron in the dungeon..not sure how a protectron can catch a biological virus..lol.

so two tips:

#1. Do not take companion in with you..they will spread it to you.
#2. Do not use the protectron..somehow it can make you catch it..apparently a bug..

Did you give the cure away? if so, not without console or mods.

Ok thanks. May be starting a new play through anyway and try avoid getting it at all.

Three choices:

1. Reloading a save and doing it over again, making sure you don't get hit by a molerat.

2. Reloading a save, then let Austin die by taking the cure yourself.

3. Typing "player.additem 00055f10" into the console, and using the cure on yourself.

If you don't mind, try downloading the timed molerat disease mod. It should be on the bethesda mods page. But other than that, there isn't much you can do for vanilla.

option 1 will never work, I done this mission several times and always got the disease without getting hit

and had to use option 3 to fix it

Its a 10 HP malus. That's it. Does nothing else. You're not going to notice a 10 HP loss.

Not true. I always played the game without getting hit in this part. As long as you don't bring any companion (or leave them at the first bed) , don't activate any protectron and take care of all the turrets. You shouldn't be getting the infection unless you get hit and even then you get a chance to resist depending on your endurance.

You CAN bring Ada I think, I know I did and didn't get infected.

Unless the unofficial Fo4 patch fixes taht bug.

If your desperate to get rid of it:
Open the console, type:
player.additem 00055f10
Close the console hit enter, it will be in your inventory.

Nah its possible to get through without it.

I actually memorized where the molerats spawned and told my companion to wait before that point cause he can give you the disease if he gets bit and I will then use some elevation and VATS to kill the molerats before they bite me.

If you bring a companion, make sure its a "ranged" one. The melee companions will most likely get hit by the molerats more then 1time. :rads:

So companions pass the molerat disease for sure or not now?
