I'm hoping you can go fairly deep into the main quest before starting Open Season? Only reason is that I want to experience as much of the "proper" story as I can before I turn on them and re-decorate the entire park in a lovely new color called "Hint of Brains".

I'm playing my character as "batsh** sane", so the temporary about-face regarding her morals is par for the course. She still tries to be "good" when I'm in the Commonwealth, though. Or at the very least "chaotic neutral".

Yes, you can finish the main Nuka World storyline and only then turn on the raiders.

Mind that Preston will turn on you if you raid the Commonwealth, though.
I cleared all the raiders out of Nuka-World and took the Red Rocket settlement. Set up a radio beacon. First settler i turned in to a provisioner to Sanctuary Hills (i could have chosen any from full list). Takes a long time for more settlers to show up however. I am up to 3 now after several in game days.

Tons of room for food, and a lot is already planted and growing there. Also a lot of places for water, including a small puddle that can fit one of the 10W machines in it.
I just finished building there myself and posted my images at gtagarage forum fallout 4 thread http://gtaforums.com/topic/521259-fallout-4/?p=1069059024
What the differences between a raider settlement and minuteman settlement?

I ask because I am almost sure to start a new play through.

One has Preston?
@Flippy - To see details about the difference between raider and mm settlements, pause the game, click on help, and scroll down until you see the help files on nuka world settlements.

My character couldn't stand working with the raiders. Got them each a park of their own, then she snapped and murdered them all. Now that I've got the power on, all is well, and I'm building a nice settlement at the Red Rocket. It's really too bad the settlers can't go trade stuff at the Nukatown USA Market.
I haven't restored power yet, and yet I've got it. I don't know if it's a bug or not. I did massacre the raiders tho.

Like, that's nice and all gage, but you're asking me to divvy up this place among raider gangs, and then go after the commonwealth? I don't even want to be leader of the minutemen, what the hell makes you think I'd go raider? So go wait over there like a good boy while I go sandman/sneak/ninja the majority of your buddies, their bosses, and then come back for you. Also, his armour looks stupid, and when you consider I'm running around in an operator's chest piece(also looks stupid), that's saying something.

Nuka Red Rocket will end up with so much concrete and stuff dumped there, as I buy shipments when the market vendors can't afford to buy whatever I'm offloading.

Any idea where the attack spawners are for the settlement? I wanna build a wall. It's not like I'm short on concrete.
I need to try that build space glitch with Finch Farm. Building a post-apocalyptic apartment block. In survival mode. Because why not. Then try it with Starlight. My restaurant needs expanding.
Heres is Finch farm, Grey Garden is the same way also, both places are fun builds.
