Best sneak pistol?
What's the best pistol for sneaking?
Do you really need with all sneak perks (+ from magazines, also the new one from Nuka World) still a suppressor to be undetectable?
The new western revolver really looks tasty but cant be suppressed. And the deliverer sucks compared to it.

i was using a suppressed 10 mm with a decent fire rate because i got it in an early drop. I have used it to kill everything from a death claw to a mirelurk queen. Once i am discovered, i am ♥♥♥♥♥♥ with that weapon. The choice of perks can make just about any pistol potent from the shadows. I would say the best sneak pistol is any legendary pistol that gives some advantage.

I've used The Deliverer, Wastelander's Friend and a 10mm that adds 15 energy damage and can goo an enemy. Points in Gunslinger (for non-automatic pistols) increases their damage signficantly. Sandman and Ninja do as well. 2x sneak damage vs 3.5x sneak damage is what it is, (if 22 normal damage, then 44 @ 2.x sneak or 77 @ 3.5x)

these are all perks i take, and perks that make sneak pistol build lethal under certain conditions. When not hidden, i am far less powerful.

Indeed.
Doesn't do much base damage, but with all perks it does.
You can also fire it a LOT of times in vats or in real time very easily.

Edit: make sure to put the lightweight mod on all your armour pieces and you can fire it about 15 times.

I like the Deliverer very much too. It's 25% bonus is nothing to sneeze at. With x4 sneak damage it lasts a while, too...not good for going face to face with chameleon deathclaws or the crabs in Far Harbor, but will do any human in.

i am not sure i have gotten this gun before. Is it a drop, or do you get it for doing a quest?

Look it up by name the Wiki is well developed. It is the Defacto 'Best' Named weapon in the game.

Do the Railroad questline and you get it on the first quest you do with the railroad companion.

i have had it then. I must not have been too impressed. But when i was doing the railroad quest, i wasn't using pistols. WAs a rifleman back then. Only an advantageous suppressed 10 mm early drop made me switch my usual weapon approach.

Well, there are really nice new rifles and melee weapons in Far Harbor and Nuka World.
The Deliverer is from vanilla and damage wise pretty much outdated.

a lot of weapons become outdated over time. I found a plasma pistol that i modified to do 150 and 150. I have taken to using that whenever i come across a high end enemy. Still have the 10 mm for hip shooting.

Honestly, handguns become almost completely obsolete at higher levels, at least if you're playing on higher difficulties. Unfortunately, the damage curve for the silenced pistols like the 10mm Handgun and the Deliverer just can't keep up with the damage inflicted by other silenced rifles.

It doesn't help that all the strongest handguns seem to be revolvers, and revolvers can't be silenced (hence making them far less useful for sneaking).
