When is the Next-Gen free update coming?
I read it was 2023 but... When exactly? Or roundabouts?

Is there any information on that yet?

Thank you.

Figures the day after I reinstall and decide to play this again, they announce that and I feel like I need to shelf it until then since it runs like garbage on my 8 core CPU.

I have the same question. There is new free DLC's coming and no date. Really Bethesda?

It was a random small press release for the anniversary. "There's a next-gen upgrade for PS5/XB/PC coming in 2023."

Why are people making such a big @#$%& deal about this?

FALLOUT 4 IS GOING NEXT-GEN

Prepare for the future: A next-gen update is coming to Fallout 4! Coming in 2023, this free update will be available for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and Windows PC systems, including performance mode features for high frame rates, quality features for 4K resolution gameplay, bug fixes and even bonus Creation Club content!

That's it. All we know. So it's like Skyrim Special Edition or Anniversary Edition.

Ok one video said there are free DLC's but maybe its not free, but there are new DLC's coming for sure, and also the TV show got news today as well, and the new options and upgrades and bug fixes and update for Fallout 4 as well.

Do you really think gamers on this forum are going to have more information than you could otherwise get by using Google? I'm guessing they're waiting to a fully ironed out release version of the Starfield engine. Otherwise this would have been released as part of the 25th Anniversary thing they're doing now. So... wild guess... whenever Starfield goes to closed beta.

Its not going to run any better with the 'next gen' update. Hardly anything that isn't productivity software makes any real use of mutli-threading.

And Bethesda has a track record here - a track record of doing the bare minimum.
It better not be a ripoff with some random low effort mods bundled together and actually upgrade the engine like special edition did

There's no engine upgrade to upgrade the engine too like there was for SE.

Well, they're clearly doing some engine tweaks, given this line in the press release:

. . .including performance mode features for high frame rates, quality features for 4K resolution gameplay, bug fixes. . .

Then your GPU is what is making it run garbage not your 8 core, cause I am on a RTX 3070 and Ryzen 7 2700x 8 core and it only runs bad around the main city (outside good neighbor entrance and looking north is a good place to test, I get 50fps on just this spot), but everywhere else in game I am over 100 - 144 easy

"including performance mode features for high frame rates" could be DLSS for Nvidia RTX cards and FSR for AMD cards

"quality features for 4K resolution gameplay" could be Raytrace (better shadows, reflections, and lighting) which requires DLSS / FSR to balance the performance impact that Raytrace gives, I would LOVE this if this game supports Raytrace that will be awesome, it looks amazing in Cyberpunk 2077, and I bet will look amazing in this game too

is there any news about the creation club content that they will release with it?

And I can see the 100s of threads whining "it broke script extender my mods dont work" like everytime they actually fixed or changed something in the exe file and script extender functions as intended by not running on the wrong exe file after the update.

As if they cant read how to delay updates.

Yep I don't use script mods for that reason
