Fallout 4

Alright time for another question.
How many of you out there think that Bethesda should try to return to that old rustic dark disturbing feel and theme to Fallout, atleast for one game? i would love to be able to return to Fallout and see dark greenish skies and realistic game funtions, as it seems Bethesda is starting to get better at terms of game designs and mechanics.

I have played fallout 1 a very long time ago, great game btw. But I believe devs need to look beyond their own needs and focus on the needs and wants of their customer base just to keep in business. Do we as gamers want to have a greenish skie and a dark environment to walk about in instead of what we have now in fallout 4, clear blight sky and landscape.

I cant comment on the realistic game funtions as I don't understand what you mean unless you mean having to eat and drink, running out of breath and needing to sleep.

If you mean a return to the real and original Fallout spirit of the first and second game... Bethesda don't seem to be able to produce those kind of games.

Doesn't go with Darker nights and you need a patch to have it working with True Storms.

Personally, I have no interest in going back to the old style of game.

I tried that with Wasteland 2 and it was just annoying.

Fallout 3 was a bit of a shock but I quickly learned to appreciate it...going back would be pointless for me.

Wasteland was a bad game IMHO. It was badly executed.

Think Baldur's gate. It got out ages ago and looked better than that...
I wouldn't want the Fallout game to be the "old topdown" viewpoint. But I'd love to see them return to the old rustic dark theme of the game. The newer games are Batman, and the old games were the Dark Knight..

The newer games have a feeling like the Big War was just a blimp on history, life kind of went on for everyone and even though the wasteland is a terrible place it's treated like it's a dinsey land theme park. You'll have people telling you to randomly visit The Farm run by ghouls and seem completely oblivions to super-mutants two blocks over with body parts in human meat sacks.

Every Fallout has its own flavour of default color scheme. All in all as long as theres modding the players make better design choices than developers a vast majority of the time.

I think each game should stick with its own... atmosphere. I love esthetics of FO3 and I love esthetics of FO4, and I prefer that they are different. If all games have same color theme or atmosphere, they will become more generic without having anything setting them apart.
Besides, with mods, you can make FO4 look like whatever tickles your fancy

I agree, they should also tone down the hole information thing where literally almost everybody knows about that stupid farm ran by robots, information should be more scarce and shouldn't be reliable at all alot of things should be kept a mystery in he Fallout universe for the newer games, not "HEY YA HERD ABOUT DAT TING O' TANG AND SUCH I HERD I T GO INT INITGNG ITNGITNGTIGTG!!!!1!!!

Lol. But yeah, I would love for the next Fallout game (or at least one future fallout game, a SINGLE PLAYER Fallout game) to go back to those rustic atmospheric gritty vibes from Fallout 1 and Fallout 2. I do appreciate the colorful environments of Fallout 4 but sometimes I prefer to gritty damp and gray environment of the Capital Wasteland in Fallout 3. Imagine the Far Harbor DLC with a mix of Fallout 1/2's atmosphere and Fallout 3's atmosphere. It would be way more mysterious and creepy.

I frankly think they're afraid of playing on the turf of other post-apocs like the Fallout-inspired Metro series. So instead they stick with the Michael Bay wasteland.

Yeah I guess that sounds about right. That's a shame. With Elder Scrolls 6 being years away and I guess Bethesda is also working that game Starfield (which I still don't know anything about) I'm worried that Fallout 5 won't exist for a long time.

Personally I find the Capitol Wasteland too bleak, much prefer FO4...which I mod to have more vegetation. Plants have no problem growing around Nagasaki, Hiroshima, or Chernobyl, it's unlikely that bombed areas would still be barren 200 years later.

Meh. Don't really care either way, like the "original" fallout look, like the new one as well. As long as I get an open world game with stuff in it, and decent gunplay, I'm happy.
