I never noticed how bad financial district was

With optimization. Like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Tanking my FPS even after disabling WOTC, and EW(both disabled earlier due to CTD's near swan's pond).

Then I went inside the railroad's church and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ there's got to be a memory leak in there. I was hitting 10-15 fps.


Even with darker nights, an ENB, piles of texture mods, regrowth on max settings, and a handful of other things(4k power armor textures, etc), I typically have no problem with 60fps in the entire gameworld and most of downtown. The financial district brought it down to 25-30 fps, and the church to 10-15. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Drop shadows to Medium or, at most 4500 in the INI (I used to do 6000 but one of the more recent optimization passes ♥♥♥♥♥♥ it up) and you really shouldn't drop off of the 50's in FPS, even sprinting full-tilt through Boston Common/Fanuiel Hall.

The one thing that really messes with my FPS besides the Vertibird bugs (Which can drop it to single-digits, but this is a bug, so not filed under Optimization tbh, and is quite rare) is the Explosive Shotguns, which, especially if bloody mess procs, can sink FPS pretty bad.

I accept an fps drop. It's just going to happen with what I'm running.

I just didn't expect something down to 10-15 fps.

I accepted that fps drops would be a reality when I installed regrowth, where god rays are running 24/7 through the plant life.

And I definitely didn't expect those 10-15fps to be in a relatively unused, small(smaller than most vaults) cell inside of a building where no plants and minimal spawns are.

On my last play through I was also down to 10-15fps inside the church. It was the first time it dropped that badly for me in that location. The only thing I was running that was much different from my previous play throughs was Regrowth Overhaul and PRC. I'm have been curious to see what its at this time through as I changed to grasslands from regrowth and to vouge from PRC.

It was really bad last time through though, kept running into walls, could barely manage to kill off the ghouls just because I couldn't aim.

No its not. I don't even have a FPS counter up for this very reason. Yes I do notice FPS dips and I hate them. I don't need to know by how many etc, unless it is necessary to know. If there is a serious problem that I need to sort out it is pretty obvious without needing a counter tell me. I find having a counter just makes you more aware of them. Even the tiny ones you probably would have missed or immediatly forgotten about after. Fallout is particularly bad for FPS hits on even the high end PC's. Exactly how does having a frame counter help you enjoy a game like this. I play this game knowing full well I will get annoying dips here and there. I just accept them as part of Bugthestas games. If I couldnt then I just would not play them. And like I said its very noticable if there is an issue that needs sorting without needing a counter.

If you are constantly running the game at 60fps and something brings it down to the 30s.... you'd notice... you dont even need FPS ever displayed to notice. I NEVER have my fps unless its my first boot of the game and I want to know what needs to be adjusted and when I feel like I am lagging.

Believe me... if you ever noticed slight lag issues, you've noticed FPS issues. If you enjoy the game constantly being sluggish thats fine, dont come into a thread about optimization and clear issues and shove your oblivious mindset on how YOU youreslf enjoy the game with its performance drops on people.

No. What you said was why should anyone care and then you went on about how you never once looked at FPS and you enjoy the game even though its not optimized.
