when I got CBBE i was just wanting to play fallout 4 with a rocking hard on throughout the whole way
it aint very immersive nor it contributes much to the immersion imo

Do you know what an endorsement is?
Obviously you have zero idea how CCBE works, or you'd know there are in fact, several options to make things look more realistic.
But what can we expect from people who think the act of being nude constitutes porn?
I Personaly have the mod mainly because of the rather Ugly Vanilla Female Hands/Feet, and yes that has a bit with immersion to do for me at least
There's also the matter of a lot of the armor mods relying on the CCBE mod to work properly
They are / aren't overrated and its mostly a thing that devs add ♥♥♥♥ tons of blood and gore but show a nip or quiz...quizicle slip and suddenly it's like you slap an innocent child with it across the face.
Then of course people are gonna try picking up the slack
Yes there are legit reasons why its bad but not the ultra neo liberal reasoning why.

Overrated is just hipster talk for "things i dont like (or only closet like and don't want to admit) should not be popular!"
But as the old saying goes... those that see sex in everything, are often the ones thinking the most about it.
Especially as there are many mods with far more endorsements and such .. that don't involve changing the body.

Well, that missed the mark entirely, because NOTHING there had anything to do with CBBE.
CBBE handles body meshes - and body meshes only. They can be what ever you want them to be. Someone might make a super model body and other one could try to create as realistic body than possible. It is all up to player what sort of body they create.
Clean/dirty body comes from textures you use. This has nothing to do with body meshes. Vanilla, CBBE, JB, FG... people create custom textures for them. You can pick very realistic ones and slap dirt all over it, or you can install extremely plastic looking without any trace of dirt.
CBBE does none of that on it's own. It does not swap your textures, chance your body form or even swap your character nude.
Player decides what sort base body they want to build, which textures they want to use and are characters nude or wearing underwear.
Tbh lore wise everything is contaminated with radioactive dust even the water and food (though the food had rads beforehand but still). It's sorta a bit weird that you can kill any person, creature, or enemy and also loot crates and containers for clothes and they're just off the bat clean.
I'm honestly surprised someone hasn't made a clean clothes mod so that you could clean em and get a small buff like the working showers tubs toilets and sinks mod. We got washers and drier models. Just gotta tweak em a bit. Maybe needing some craftable ones with stuff like antiseptic or boxes of abarox cleaner/detergent.
armors used to also need repairability in past fallouts for durability so in a way i guess you'd clean them when you repaired them. Now they just stay like that forever and power armor is the only thing that loses durability.
I wouldn't mind seeing a similar mod like CWSS Redux from Fallout 4 in Skyrim.
I don't mean that we should build wasteland showers around, but barrel showers, functional washing stations, sauna etc.
