Mods in Survival Mode?
Do you guys use mods like Survival Options or something to change the damage base? After beat the game for the first time with almost 200h i'm starting to look for mods to increase my next run (graphics and gameplay) which will be probably at Survival Mode. So, worst play this mode whitout any mod? I have just the game base And my fear is the enemies take time to die while I die with 2 attacks/shots like in another games from Bethesda. That is not fun, it just boring

I'm getting towards the end of a survival run and the enemies really don't take that long to die if you have a properly built character (there are a few kinda ridiculous exceptions but by and large). I can kill most enemies with one shot. The difficulty really comes from the inability to quick save, the limited fast travel, the drastically reduced healing rate and weight limits (plus normally weightless objects now have weight), and the increased enemy damage to you. It's really tricky for the first few levels but then it gets better. I've played without mods and had a blast.

First off, it's your game, play it the way you want.

I played a Survival run, no mods, no console commands to revert, etc. until level 70. A pure Survival run. The combat is a lot of fun. Much slower pace in the lower levels. But once you get geared well and have some several leveled perks for your play style, you are a ass kicking machine. The healing slow rate and the enemies doing 3 x as much damage to your char versus normal, become less of a issue as the enemies die so fast.

The other restrictions are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and add no fun for myself. They are meant more for some who like the immersion effect of having those restrictions. However, I can understand why some players use a mod like "Survival Options" which one can adjust those settings.

But I use no mods, so I can not speak from experience in how well it works. For myself, "Very Hard" adds a balanced, challenging play run, without all the other dumb restrictions and thus a more fun time. That being said, not everyone has the same tastes in what they feel are enjoyable.

At the present I am doing my own Very Hard run with Survival Combat using a console command. But I do not recommend it and will not post the command, as using the console has the potential to mess up your game. So do your own search if you want to play that way, but it's at your own risk.

I use Survival Options and Survival Unlocker.

I personally use Survival Options to increase the respawn rate, the Incoming Damage to 3x instead of 2x and the damage dealt to 2x instead of 1.5x, also i disable Adrenaline e re-enable the Institute Teleporter so it can actually make sense, you should try it, lots of options to tweak and make Survival play the way you like.

It's a single player game that is absolutely not balanced around Survival Difficulty. Bethesda has no idea how to properly balance a game, so do whatever you like, so long as you have fun. Mod the ♥♥♥♥ out of your game, and remember to get the achievement enabler if you like hunting achievements,

Personally, I always enable the console and the normal save system for Survival. I know that defeats one major aspect of Survival, but I've lost more progress due to the game ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ up than actually dying to an enemy. Losing several hours of progress to ♥♥♥♥ like the terminal glitch or to a car is a special kind of ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up. I genuinely fear cars more than a raider with a fat man now.

Also, genuinely, ♥♥♥♥ the save system. I can respect the reasoning behind it, but this game is far too unbalanced for it to work. Your fear is not unfounded. On Survival, you take 4x damage and deal 0.75 damage. Everything becomes a damage sponge, except you. You pretty much die to a stiff breeze in the early and late game, especially when you tackle Nuka World.

Anyway, Survival genuinely is fun, but the execution is terrible due to a mix of poor (non-existent) balancing and game-breaking issues that you literally cannot fix as the console is disabled.
