The whole retro-futurism of Fallout is awesome and fun, it has humor and such because of it's tone it's simultaneously dark while being light hearted
Even the original series has some retro in them although i would say it was less pronounced
Pretty much every Monday in real life.
lmao I thought it was Pj when I read the title.
Tbh there are a handful of zombie games which sorta do the whole fallout schtick without ghouls instead they use zombies. Sorta the same thing.
So yeah just imagine another game with mutants or zombies like the suffering or Dead Frontier. Same concept different genre. Since fallout has mutants and ghouls which act like zombies. They also got overpowered enemies with gear and raiders. Just imagine the power armor ones are pvp players with high end gear guns and armor. There that's a zombie apocalypse without the retro feel.
I can actually see fallout as a sort of metro or stalker mod without the stuff like robots or aliens or 50's futuristic atom punk / ray punk feel. I actually would've liked it more since no real game comes close to it. Like a game with based on irl locations. 3 on it's own just the destroyed washington was immersive enough without the other assets added as a post nuclear apocalypse game.
new vegas too since it felt like a planet of the apes / resident evil vibe of just desert and tougher enemies. Just remove the main factions and retro stuff and keep the raiders khans and boomers and it's basically mad maxish style of a game. Or a very wild west red dead type of game experience.
It's the same post-apocalyptic open world where you help factions... only you drive around in one of the few working tanks.
...
And it was on the NES
