Why Some People Have Discontent With Fallout 4?
I seen some people post about there discontent with Fallout 4 or the company?
So was wondering what ponder to think so?
Why dont they think the company makes great games? is due to Fallout 76?
people felt cheated and lost trust?
How could the company fix the discontent with people?
So Starfield could change peoples ideals if was great?

I think the problems is a vocal minority has given Bethesda the wrong idea about what fans want and whats best for their games, Elder Scroll Online and Fallout 76 are Bethesda's answers to the fools that kept going on about wanting to play Fallout 3 or NV with a friend or Skyrim multiplayer, so what we got was a Elder Scrolls Online a fairly typical MMO and 76 an attempt to make a multiplayer Fallout game that feels like a Fallout game, but it fails in pretty much every way as trying to making everyone happy they made no one happy and only in the last years has it really gotten to a point where it should of been at launch.

Not forgetting Fallout 4 had a greatly reduce role playing potential as they merged Skills and Perks into one system which was completely unnecessary not that it was bad, just not a good as the old levelling system, and of course there's the Voiced Protagonist which was probably the biggest mistake of Fallout 4.

Then theres the arguement about them needing a new game engine, and while a newer engine could offer greater visuals and performance the time and money spent making it over upgrading the existing one would surely diminish the quality of the next game.

Do keep in mind that all the Bethesda games you mentioned are more popular and selling better than anything that came before them. ESO and FO76 are big business and Starfield will no doubt be the biggest hit for them yet. From that perspective, Bethesda is clearly doing what the majority want more of.

Maybe it's the vocal minority that's just whiny, opinionated, and ungrateful?

ESO and 76 didnt sell better than Skyrim or Fallout 4 particularly if you count Skyrim Special Edition and now the Anniversary edition, I don't know where you got that idea from, especially since Fallout 76 was put on sale weeks after release because it was so bad

I just read on statista.com, that the March 2020 figures are showing a sales of 13.5 million FO4 copies whereas only 2.5 million copies of FO76 were sold until then. I doubt that FO76 has closed a gap of that magnitute in one and a half years.

And FO4 was released 6 years ago so let's see what FO76's sales look like in another 4 years, eh?

Besides, that doesn't track the microtransactions built into either ESO or FO76, does it? Bet that adds up quite nicely as well.

The "Premium" subscriptions? $15 a month x 12 months = $180 for one year of those games. How much was FO4 again?

So if you measure success by how much money the company has made, and that's quite literally the only measure of success for any for-profit organization, I'm thinking Bethesda is doing fan-♥♥♥♥♥♥♥-tastic. So good they got bought by Microsoft AND kept their entire studio, unchanged. They basically just got handed a wad of cash for almost nothing.

TL;DR the complaints that these games are losing a certain flair they used to have may be valid, but won't change a thing. This is the direction Bethesda will continue to move in.

A company that is making money based on microtransactions is not a good thing, its a black mark. Just pointing that out.

Doubly so for a company that wasn't doing it not too long ago.

Says who? "Black mark." Why? That's just more of the "whiny, opinionated vocal minority" I was mentioning earlier.

Microtransactions don't bother me. Hell, they let me play all kinds of games for free while other people pay.

The quiet majority (99%) are just playing the game and spending money without a thought or wonder about the company's business practices, ethics, or intent. It could come out tomorrow that the CEO of Bethesda eats babies and worships C'thulhu and they would lose less sales than the bonus he gets when he leaves the position.

It's just entertainment. It's a literal game. The only question that matters:

Is the game fun? If YES, go to (Spend Money). If NO, go to (Different Game)

Microtransactions are when a company chops up its content and decides to sell it to you piece by piece, usually for higher price than each piece is worth. Good for the company, but the user is getting scammed. And that's only for games that have an upper limit.

Games where lootboxes are thing don't have an upper limit, neither do many mobile games who make money off of people too lazy to do the math. In this case, the company is making money off of people's laziness, or stupidity, or both.

You're getting screwed out of your money whether you realize it or not. If you're happy with that, that's your business. But you're making a mistake if you think that only a "vocal minority" is against microtransactions. Not that it matters, the raw amount of people standing with or against something has no bearing on its ethical implications or logical effects.

Though it seems like your mind was already made up and I doubt anything anyone says will convince you, so believe what you will.

No. That is not the only way microtransactions work. You can buy ESO/FO76 for one price, never pay the subscription, and never spend on the in-game currency and still have access to 100% of the content (barring new expansions, which we have always paid for). I do own ESO, bought the pack that included everything up to Elsweyr (like 3 or 4 expansions) for $20 and never paid another cent for the game.

I don't need to be convinced of this:

It's just entertainment. It's a literal game. The only question that matters:

Is the game fun? If YES, go to (Spend Money). If NO, go to (Different Game)

It's just objectively true.

Hmmm, you claimed that FO76 is more popular though. A profitable game does not have to be the most popular game. A popular game should be measured by copies sold and not by dolllars made. Unfortunately, Betheshda does not publish accurate figures for FO4, for some reason though. Nevertheless, I have my doubts that FO76 will reach anywhere near the FO4 numbers, no matter how long we wait.

I don't know about that. FO4 is done being marketed. FO76 is still pushing new content and could for years. I believe it works like ESO, one new expansion a year for ~$40 so the game is being bought again with every expansion.

Also, there are more gamers now than 5 years ago. Bigger market kind of, by default, leads to more sales.
