Fallout 4 Keeps Crashing (PLEASE HELP ME FIX)

So whenever I play Fallout 4 I get to the part at the beginning when you have to run to the vault for safety. Then without fail the game just crashes and I'm at my home desktop.

Now I'm relatively new to PC gaming, but I'm sure this shouldn't be happening. For starters, I also play Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019) on my PC as well. And when I play that it runs just fine at the highest possible settings and I still get 100+ FPS when I play it. The PC I got is a Razer Blade 15 with a RTX 2080 Max-Q GPU, 16GB of RAM, and a 6 core 9th gen i-7 processor. I do have Fallout on the highest settings too, but for the time it does play it still plays at 100+ FPS as well. And the resolution for all of my games is set at 1920x1080 as my display is a 1080p 240Hz display.

I'm not sure if it matters, but I have Fallout 4 downloaded to a portable hard drive with 5TB of storage and I've hardly used any space on it. Granted I have Call of Duty downloaded directly on my computer, but I'm pretty sure just because I have Fallout on a separate storage it shouldn't affect the game like this. Can someone please help me fix this?

running any mods? fallout is not a cpu intense game so any potato in last decade can easily run it. a CTD (crash to desktop) is often a corrupt file, most likely from bad mods/too many CreationClub CC files.

Disable Weapon Debris. Almost all RTX and GTX cards have issues with it.

Zotliatlicor is right. I saw this same thing in another thread. Disabling weapon debris made it work perfect.

launch the launcher (in steam even with (f4se installed), go to settings, click advanced, then the last drop box should say debris and select off, notice how it says best performance lol :_______;

Late to the party but mine was crashing and after much fiddling around it turned out to be my pagefile.sys file was set too low and the cptr was running out of virtual memory

Thank You!! Seriously!! I tried everything from uninstalling the game and deleting mods and reinstalling windows! But this finally worked!! Im not even mad i did all the other things in vain... im just clad it works now. ♥♥♥♥ yeah!

literally had the same issue when running to the vault and crashed to desk top. aint played this for several years and thought id have another play through and was annoyed given my pc specs but the disabling debri worked a treat. nice one!
