Why Curie, Why?

The Glowing Sea, Virgil's Laboratory: I have just finished negotiating a deal with Virgil, after two hour of fighting our way across the Glowing Sea, with no chance of saving. I turn my back to leave the Lab, and Curie, kind Curie, goes berserk. She takes the 32 shot shotgun I gave her as her weapon and demolishes Virgil's machine guns. Then she demolishes his robots; finally she starts to work on Virgil himself.

I am finally able to get her out of the cave, leave her outside, and go back inside to see if there's anything left to salvage of my last several hours of game play. Strangely Virgil talks to me, and wishes me luck in my forth coming endeavor. As if being attacked by insane wild women is an everyday happening for him.

The whole incident is literally unbelievable. Why did Curie attack? Can I trust my last conversation with Virgil? Or will I return to find him hostile? One thing's for sure; she's not coming inside that cave with me again.

She's not the robot anymore. She's graduated to synth, so semi human I suppose? No way in Hell does she go in that cave again. I wish there was some way in the game I could ask her why she did what she did. But I suppose there's no way in Hell.

Well, we got out of the glowing Sea, and I had my first sleep--save. So, I'm stuck with the deed now.

Sounds like a bug to me. Mods? Lack of mods? Who knows. I've had companions turn hostile to me for no apparent reason before.

I noticed that Curie is badass, especially with a melee weapon. Give her a power sledge and she pounds things to death.

She bashes pretty good with the shotgun I gave her. Shoots VERY well. She's a lot better at combat than Piper. Maybe fights too well.

Not sure, I never tried it. I always change her to human (or synth) as soon as possible.

Yes, you can. Just like any other robot (or codsworth).

Or the radiation got to her head. She is in a human...well synth body now, and I'm pretty sure they are susceptable to radiation poisoning. I mean, they are still mostly flesh and blood.

We were both in power armor, which gives the best protection against radiation. I'm starting to think she was wanting to have one of those "special" talks with me, and I kept ignoring her, because I was having a "special" talk with Virgil. So, trying to get my attention, she turned the lab into a shooting gallery.

It makes no logical sense, but we all know that women aren't always governed by logic.

Do either of you have the "Targeting HUD" mod on your helmet? If you do I can guarantee you thats what did it. I went in there once with it on my helm and it was instant battle. Just like the final stage of The Mechanist Lair. Robots take that sensor as an attack.

That Targeting HUD will also cause the last quest of the Silver Shadow to fail at the hospital.

I don't know why it happened, but if I remembered it takes 2 days of in-game time to reset a faction's affection towards you if your actions are what caused any hostility. You already said you aren't bringing her back, so that and waiting outside the cave's area long enough should do it

I don't use ANY mods, so a mod didn't cause this.
