Fallout 4 missing ini. files
The only file i have is fallout4Prefs.ini and thats it, no fallout4.ini or fallout4Custom.ini. Need some help cause i need those other files to activate mods.

custom.ini is made by the player & used normally to stop the reset of the normal ones, but I normally just use it to make certain overwriting tweaks not used as the full ini replacer.

^NO.

The Fallout4Custom.ini is created by the game once you leave vault 111 for the first time and head to Concord.

For players that just have to add mods before playing the game for a few hours, they can create the Fallout4Custom.ini using Notepad and add it to the Fallout 4 folder in Documents/My Games/Fallout 4.

Once it has been created, here's what goes in it;

iLocation Y=0
[Archive]
bInvalidateOlderFiles=1
sResourceDataDirsFinal=

^That's all you need in order for nexus mods to work.

OP, as far as you not having a Fallout4.ini in your Documents/My Games/Fallout 4 folder, LOOK Again. I'm thinking you looked in the main game folder and not in My Games.

IF, you look in My Games and truly don't have a Fallout4.ini in there, verify the integrity of the game files and that will add it.

The Fallout4Custom.ini is created by the game once you leave vault 111 for the first time and head to Concord, well forgive me for not knowing that a file generates later without the base launcher, why would it choose to generate then ??? well I'm not wrong to say the two main ini's generate at the launch of the game after you've auto/changed your settings for the first time, at which point you start playing the game to see if its even working at that point...

I personally made my own Fallout4custom.ini before I even started the game because I've played skyrim & it was a needed step to start modding... again doesn't change the fact its used to makes permanent changes to override the main ini's this is what its mainly for... Lazy people tired of the launcher resetting their custom changes.
