Who was disappointed by the Red Death

After redoing this quest again I realized this quest could have been so much more. Everything up until the end where you find out the whole quest is just a joke it really hypes you up and makes you get ready for what you think will be an epic battle.
Then I started to think maybe this was going to be an epic quest at some point (all the dialog up until red death island fits that scenario) but was scrapped for whatever reason and made into this simple joke of a quest.
I know I can't be the only one to think this...maaan that quest could have be amazing

By the time you get to that quest, you are able to take on some truly bada$$ bosses. They could have had a flying mirelurk queen or something. You even have some reasonably qualified help tagging along.

Nope, not all quests have to be an epic fight to the death. It also illustrates how people can easily exaggerate and make stuff up with rumors, it's fun

I also feel like a certain element makes fun of Borderlands and other shooters with raid bosses.

Go thru all the work, to find it, make it appear, go to the specific spot to fight it, and then someone with super OP (or even hacked weapons) one shots it.

Being disappointed by the Red Death is kind of the point of the Red Death.

But I was separately disappointed that I couldn't tell the truth and still make it sound like an impressive cautionary tale. It was not the creature that slew those people, but the power of the sea itself.

Given that it lures people to their deaths, you'd almost think it should be an angler, but then it wouldn't be as cute.

The best I managed was using Wasteland Whisperer to play around with it a bit on its island before inevitably shooting it.

Then, as usual, I waved its glowy-eyed corpse about for a while.

I also offer the potential headcanon that the Red Death might not be unique. Just because we found a tiny creature doesn't mean that this was the only Red Death or the original one.

Previously victims could just as easily have fallen prey to a Red Death queen. They wouldn't be lured any less by distant lights on the foggy sea, their death would just be more certain when they found the source.

What I would have loved to have done, was use the Fat Man to put on a fireworks show so the people of Far Harbor could see it from a distance.
