Are AWKCR and Armorsmith Extended doing the same thing?
Why would I want to have both of them? Isn't there a lot of redundancy? Both seem to be non-customizeable too, so I can't disable things that are already covered by another mod and I don't really like equipping armor on top of armor that will clip through.

AWKCR is a library of keywords.
Armorsmith Extedned is a mod that allows you to craft armor.

AWKCR adds keywords to vanilla items that´s missing them. Beyond that it adds new keywords for mod authors to use. And it´s a resource, it does very little by itself.
Armorsmith Extended makes changes to nearly every ingame item, clothing and armor, to give them functions they didn´t have before. Like wearing clothes under armor, helmet upgrades and more.
So, it´s my understanding they work in conjunction with another. Especially since Armorsmith requires AWKCR to use the keywords added by that mod.

In other words, think of AWKCR as a systematic framework added to the game, whereas Armorsmith extended is closer to that of a more direct modification (that uses said framework).

AWKCR also adds a ton of stuff you might not want (paints etc.)
