Never ending "environment" comments
In certain areas where there is clutter or a "smell" that companions can comment on, it does not end. For instance Curie and Codsworth alike will complain incessently about the area being dirty or unclean. And when i mean incessent I mean that when they say it they dont even finish the line and are starting another one about the exact same thing. From what I have noticed it happens when they get near a "activator" but any mods that changes those activators affects ALL npcs including guards and settlers so they won't do for me.

I don't have any mods asides from AFT and No Junk comments that would (or should) possibly affect this and Ive uninstalled, reinstalled played with and without, jiggled the AFT chat settings (and reset to default after the fact) and the problem continues to persist. It makes having companions asides from dogmeat be beyond aggrivating. AND to top it off I havent seen a single post anywhere about something like this. It only started to happen two patches ago...

Haven't noticed it, but I don't use companions. Another reason not to iguess.

I've been having it happen a lot after the last update. It always could happen, but it seems more frequent now.

I find that it especially happens when another bug shows up, where the follower is stuck in the "downed" state after combat. You can't stimpack them to get them up, you can talk to them and trade with them like they are out of combat, they can't attack anyone or move (but sometimes teleport as followers tend to do normally), etc.

I find the two bugs always happen together, at least so far that I've noticed in my current playthrough. I had it happen last night with Deacon who literally just sat at the enterance to one of the fish packing facilities and said "Thanks nose, I really needed that input" over, and over, and over, on loop.

There are mods to lessen or eliminate comments. Also for pc headtracking and responses to comments.

I have found that a good spot for this to happen is "interesting" locations. Such as the Corvega plant or in water. For instance Codsworth will say he thinks of the corvega as a distant cousin repeatedly, and he'll say his water lines over and over in water.

We're not talking about the normal speech being too frequent. This is a bug where the NPCs literally loop the same dialogue in succession, endlessly, until you leave a building.

i generally don't use companions either. I did use Nick and Piper at various times. Nick wasn't so bad. Piper was horrid. I also used the dog. At least the dog shut the ♥♥♥♥ up most of the time. And when he did bark, it usually was a nice warning of danger around.

Anyone found a fix for this yet?

Each companion has subroutines that are triggered by the continuation of a quest that concerns him directly, if one of these companions has a sub-quest (personal quest) in progress the glitch appears, it disappears only by completing that request.
Maybe in the case of Curie and Codsworth you haven't completed the path of maximum interaction.
There are console command codes like GETAV, SETAV or MODAV but I don't recommend them, the first two modify the gameplay almost irreversibly.
