Crashing a few seconds after loading save on new pc
Just got a new pc and on an obviously fresh install of the game but every time i load a save file and walk around for a bit the game crashes straight to desktop. Started a brand new save and once i leave the house to run the vault it always crashes after like maybe 20 seconds but did the entire inside section fine. No mods installed and all my drivers are up to date.
Specs:
16gb ram
Ryzen 7 2700x 8 core 3.70ghz
RTX 2080
Windows 10 64bit

I feel like this thread pops up ever day or so, no offense though :P

Your RTX 2080 combined with the weapon debris setting is the reason for your crashing. Disable "weapon debris" in the launcher's graphics settings.

This issue has existed since the RTX cards launched and happens on all RTX and newer NVIDIA gpu models, afaik. Both NVIDIA and Bethesda apparently cannot be bothered to fix this.

Any issues with a RX 6900 XT ? Thinking about reinstalling the game.

Read here if you have not read it yet:

Most of the issues are not with the game itself, but with modern hardware and Windows versions. I would think it works for most people out of the box, or they know how to help themselves, just for some it causes a problem and they need a bit of help.

This "weapon debris" bug is entirely an Nvidia thing. It's caused, I believe, by old PhysX code that has been incompatible with Nvidia cards since the 16XX/20XX generation. AMD cards don't even show the Weapon Debris option in the graphics settings.

i have a couple full amd builds and the game runs fine with the 6900xt and the 7900xtx just had to limit my monitor to 60hz it crashes constantly on my 4090 even with debris off and every other fix i found online, still crashes to desktop with no error

Knowing Bethesda they will just remove the weapon debris feature entirely instead of trying to fix it.
