Where are the F4SE missing scripts?
LOOT keeps telling me that F4SE is still missing scripts...why has Silverlock.org not fixed this?

Edit: Got it fixed, thanks

What are you talking about?

It says something other than "Your F4SE is up to date."?

F4SE works fine as it always has if installed properly.

uh huh... well I wrote this for Skyrim, so let me hotswap some words:

Right click Fallout 4 in Steam and go to Properties.

Under "Local Files" click "Browse local files"

You are now in your Fallout 4 folder. You should see the "data" folder here, but we don't need to mess with it. Keep it open where you can see Fallout4.exe and the data folder.

Download the newest version of F4SE (always ONLY from f4se.silverlock.org).

It'll come as a 7z file which is a standard zip type that numerous programs can open. (www.rarlab.com under downloads, it's free).

Bring up two windows: the Fallout 4 folder/window that we already opened and the folder where you saved the 7z. Right-click the 7z and select "extract here."

That window should now have a plain folder with the same name as the 7z. Go inside that folder and you'll find a "data" folder and "src" folder and a handful of files.

Select all those files (Ctrl+A while the window is active) and drag them over to the Fallout 4 folder, being careful not to deposit them into any sub-folders. Tell it to overwrite/replace anything it wants. If it is asking to merge the data folders, which it should, you're putting it in the right place.

You should now have the merged data folder, a src folder, and those files all in the Fallout 4 folder.

This isn't the only way to extract F4SE into the right place but it does let you see, step by step, where everything is going and maybe get a better understanding of what's actually happening in the game folder.

Is it "You have installed a F4SE Plugin but F4SE was not found! See F4SE download page:"

I get it too, even when everything is up to date. Don't know what it is, what it wants or whatever. It doesn't stop me from playing soo....Whatever.

Edit: In skyrim and fallout 4.

Edit2: Just so clear After March Update was when it started. I checked, Double Checked and paid off some guy named Mel my plugins and verified all .dll files in skse/f4se \plugins were up to date.

I had that error message right after the last Bethesda attack on FO4...er, I mean update! No, this was different...my problem was that I was following Gopher's instructions, as per his video, and was rearchiving the Data folder and installing it through the Vortex Mod Manager. Just follow the installation instructions in the F4se readme and you should be ok.

I personally never install F4SE with any mod manager. it's just a matter of extract and PUT IT INSIDE THE DATA folder. Not being rude here but most ppl said that f4se don't work just forget to put it inside the Data folder

Except that you put it in your Fallout 4 game folder, not the data folder.

OP was was archiving his data folder which is completely unnecessary and locking F4SE out of it's own scripts.

SKSE/F4SE should be installed into your Game Director where the .exes are.
(Grab the ~2 dll files and the loader.exe and place them where skyrim/fallout exe is)

The DATA folder inside the SKSE/F4SE archive should be merged with the existing DATA folder of Skyrim/Fallout4.

OR have the data part of the archive installed through a mod organizer, like MO2. (Using anything else, you're a brainlet)
