So is there an explanation...
As to why glowing feral ghouls can "revive" other ferals, some of which I just put .50 rounds into their heads? Is there any lore behind this, or is this another one of those gameplay-story segregation things?

Second question, if the above has happened, has anyone had a headless feral attacking them as a result?

W-what, since when were glowing ones able to revive other ferals? I never seen/heard of this in my life, I too want a explanation on this. Also, no pretty sure once the head is dismembered that Ferals die instantly, like humans.

Its not very common. For one thing they only use it when there are a lot of dead ferals in their immediate vicinity, and only if you let them live long enough. Though I just witnessed a glowing one charging it up, before my assaultron impaled it.

Radiation heals ferals. When the glowing ones use their stupid reset button ability the wounds of ferals are healed like they're wolverine or some such nonsense.

Please note ferals missing their heads cannot be revived and ferals missing their legs are not lizards and just crawl on the floor pathetically, so always aim for both parts.

I have had a headless feral attacking me once, but since crippling feral parts makes it detach, you can very rarely have a headless ghoul attacking you.

Guess what it is actually aliens, its the same force that keeps the atom followers alive in the rads.

I use a mod to disable this ability, because as youre implying, it makes NO SENSE!

Fools. ’Tis not aliens from some far star that makes the dead take the seeming of life, but the implacable will of Ug-Qualtoth.

All will be blessed with his musings as the feral are.

Actually it existed in Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas.

You can actually shoot ghouls with a rad gun and it heals them.

Ironically it does not go away with Fallout 76 either considering how many 2-3 star combos they "outlawed" from the RNG tables.

I had one memorable case during early play while I was down the sinkhole and trying to pick off ghouls from the bottom of a slope. It was a while before I realized the ghouls that were dropping out of sight due to being dead were being continually revived.

In my experience, the non-radiation damage from the gun outstrips the healing, so you can still kill them, it just takes longer. You can kill ghouls even with a gamma gun, as long as you're determined (there I believe the damage that eventually kills them is from a special impact effect of their projectile).

If I had to take a guess, The healing factor that glowing ones bestow on dead ghouls works the same way as say, Healing does in other series like Godzilla for example.

The way the Radiation works on their bodies. Ferals have no true personalities anymore. So if the Radiation dose is enough to heal the damage and get the heart/whatever pumping again, then they can get back up.
Radiation is a powerful, Powerful thing.

I'd describe the feral part more as the way radiation doesn't work properly on their brains, at least if the research of Dr. Barrows is to be believed.

Generally, it's definitely more of a general healing factor rather than full regeneration. If they get a big enough dose of radiation, it powers up their weird biology enough to to patch together damaged tissue, but they can't regrow entire limbs or organs so if you take out something critical they'll stay dead.

Yeah, you'd think slamming a gauss round into their chest hard enough to make their hearts explode would make them stay dead. Then a glowing on starts doing these weird motions aaaaand....
