Show me your most outrageous settlement builds.
I suck at building settlements and would LOVE to see some ideas you have had. I'd love to see your biggest, best, most outrageous settlements you have built.

I'd KILL to see an entire city built in Spectacle Island. But I know I can't do that. >_<

This is no mods expanding limits or anything and its fun to try make everything fit within the limits really.

Also try doing a search on Google and Bing for fallout 4 settlements. Then look at images. Try some other search terms too.

This was my settlement building build
S 4 P 3 E 1 C 10 I 8 A 1 L 1
I named him Gavin McNiel the politician.

Notable settlements I made.
1 fort sanctuary: that Cul de sac area of the settlement became completely walled in by junk fences.
The 2 houses that weren’t destroyed got turned into shops.
And the houses I built were my main base, a barracks for all my citizens, and a bar that that sturges runs with a neon sign saying “the leaping sturgeon”.
Nothing that attacks the settlement gets a chance to destroy anything as the only way in is through the front and there are two sentry bots guarding it thanks to the automation dlc.

2 starlight empire: a city made solely for farming caps.
Nothing but stores and a fancy hotel here.
And a few assaultrons patrolling the streets.

3 taffington industry’s: this settlement alone provided enough water for all of my settlements together.
Walled off, laser turrets all around, and as many industrial purifiers as I could fit in here.
Large majority of my money came from selling the water I got here.

4 nightclub Zimonja: not gonna lie took inspiration from the third rail making this one. Nightclub Zimonja has a ghoul bus boy, fancy jazz music. And everyone in this settlement is dressed for a night out.
Then there is the vip room upstairs only the truly elite get to experience.
Which contains its own pharmacy and access to all the chems you’d need for a real party.
And contains the succubus nests.
I’ll leave it up to your imagination what those rooms are for

5 fort Jamaica: it only took the contraptions and wasteland workshop DLCs for me to actually make something of this place.
Fort Jamaica is a tower with missile launchers raining hellfire on every enemy within any kind of radius of this place. Needless to say the ghouls in town were annihilated after I was done building this.
There’s also a farm at the top but water pumps had to be put at the bottom.

My last settlement I enjoyed building was Red Rocket Robot Recreation.
This was a settlement run by robots for robot creation. 5 types of robots got made here.
Civil servant robots: ran shops and farmed food mostly protectrons and me handed
Scavenger robots: looked for supply’s protectrons and me handys
Also mostly protectrons
Security robots: protected settlements mostly entry’s and assaultrons
Supply chain mules: robo brains
And companions: just about any type but a protectron

All these screens show texture replacers and modern furniture CC item and no building or item addition mods.

Since i restart ever time my character dies i have had a chance to really perfect Starlight. These screens show build limit at 97% or so, so there is room for a few more details which i will add some time.

There is 3 stores one in the screen building, a medic.

Vault 88 will be the big settlement with all stores and that is under full construction this play through.

There are some shots of my partly done hangmans alley townhouse rebuild here -

https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198006990645/screenshots/?appid=377160&sort=newestfirst&browsefilter=myfiles&view=imagewall

I haven't worked on it for a few months. It was a test to see what could be built in multi-story townhouse and to see if npc's could navigate all the stairs and pathways (which they do if the right pieces are used).

I am still amazed that this was working. All vanilla, save from 2 Sim Settlements martial plots.

Red Rocket salvage station. Vanilla buildings, with few SS plots. (Massive antenna is the final stage of one of SS addon plots.)

Pretty crazy interior.

Another view. I placed some glasses and stuff on the table and dresser later on. To make it look more lived.

This is the corner of Starlight. It was getting pretty full. (Mixture of vanilla structures and Sim Settlements plots.)

Install:
- UFO4P
- Workshop Framework

Those will make it theoretically possible to build the whole Spectacle Island.

You can use either a mod, or vanilla scrapping feature, to increase the build limit in that settlement. At least as far as your computer can handle it.
I had this really epic Hangman's Alley build, in short it was a bunch of shacks and vehicles being used in the most creative ways possible. Unfournately I did end up placing too much and since you need NASA computers for Boston I stopped that project, the loading times really did kill the mood but it was my proudest build ever.

I'm planning on something big soon not sure what though.
My biggest right one was a wooden airship by the lighthouse back when mods were limited, and my second biggest was a rebuild of the castle. I'd place five lighthouse-like structures that suit the current aesthtic in all the five corners of the castle, and then build small stations, reinforcing the walls and building up vertically. I could never get the whole build in the courtyard of the castle (where the radio tower is) so I usually leave it blank.

I wanna build something futuristic with a BoS x Institute x Enclave aesthetic (i.e the Imperial Star Destroyer and their aesthetic). Though whenever I used anything even mods, the ships I build never seem to fill my void. It always comes out as a bunch of walls and floors and not an actual ship or a large vehicle or anything.

OP, maybe consider a mod called "transfer settlements". I use it, and I also suck at building settlements. Or rather, I can't be bothered to build these things with every damn character I make.

Alot of the good settlements though require you to install like thirty-seven different mods oofta.
I know it isn't alot when alot of 'em are common and some mods try to not be dependent on other mods too much but for a guy like me well past the 255 limit it's painful deciding which to can and which to not can.

Is there no way to transfer a save file ?

That's not how transfer settlements works. There is ONE and only one plugin. True, you have to grab the settlements you want, but those aren't plugins, they're data files specifically for TS. All you have to do is navigate to the "transfer settlements" folder in your data directory and drop the settlement file into one of the numbered folders. That's it. Then you import in the game.
