Character Permanently Godmode
Really have no clue how this happened but my player character has suddenly become invulnerable to all damage and uses no AP when running. He still requires food, water and rest from what I have seen so far (playing on Survival).

I have the console enabled through mods (to help with over-designing settlements) and have tried typing "tgm" in the chance that I might have used it earlier and forgotten. I only get the message "God mode disabled".

Not "God mode is disabled". God Mode seems to be enabled and I can't disable it, as it simply repeatedly tells me "God mode disabled" yet I can't take any damage no matter what I try!

Not sure what has happened. I do not believe it was a mod as it seems to have happened during my recent play time.

Anyone got any solutions? Is this common? Are there any mods that just over-ride any pesky God Mode enabling aspects? Building in relative safety is one thing but the remainder of the game is ruined with this crap on!

(Also, I wonder if I should place money on people ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about God Mode in Survival in this thread?)

Modding is done at user risk. It sounds likely you did something with your mods that caused this.

Right, if that's the case I'd better start sifting through them. Was worried that'd be a possible culprit.

Try using TIM instead.

i never get "god mode is disabled"

you get "god mode enabled" if you enable it and "god mode disabled" when you disable it. This is how it is supposed to be.

do you use the cheat terminal mod and have enabled the god mode affects there?

Well everytime I type "tgm" it only ever says "god mode disabled". Never enables it. As if it is permanently on or re-enabled immediately after it is disabled.

"god mode is disabled" is what I think should be displayed if God Mode is unavailable (such as in unmodded survival mode) unless I am mistaken, which could be the case.

Anyway, still hunting through my mods to see if one of them is giving me this unasked for "gift"...

If you're on survival It usually keeps it off..but a mod may be actively keeping it on.

this sounds like a bug with a mod which enables the console in survival mode, which one do you use? maybe its a known issue with that mod?

in the unmodded survival mode the console should be completely disabled.

I've checked through all mods that I've recently installed. The ones installed after this bug are:

and I truly think this is a bug. The last 3 posted (Survival Console Enabler, F4SE and Unlimited Survival Mode) are from after the bug appeared. They enabled me to switch to Very Hard mode, check the TGM and see if it worked.

It didn't. TGM does "enable" but when it disabled, I still take no damage. God Mode still persists.

There is no 'god mode' bug associated with the vanilla game.
Wide & Irish Dec 31, 2017 @ 7:35pm
Well, I've disabled all my mods. Reloaded the game, and am still stuck in God Mode. What would you put forward, BlazeD, to further the search for a solution?

Try loading a save from before this problem occured and see if its still enabled.

Earlier save (like, so heartbreakingly earlier - The point I turned survival on) seems fine. Loaded mods up and no gode mode ocurred

Been attempting to kill off my toon in the bugged save. Character can still be crippled by falls though blasts dont seem to phase him. He still uses AP for VATS. His AP is still reduced by fatigue, starving, thirst.

Stimpaks dont work at all. This is really odd ...

In case you're still having trouble with this three years later, I figured out it was Workshop+ causing the issue (for me). It has settings for turning off damage, clipping, etc while in workshop mode, and sometimes it gets stuck. You can tell when sprinting costs no AP and when stimpacks stop working, just like you described.

You can turn those settings off in the MCM. Shouldn't be an issue after that.

If you don't have Workshop+, look for any mods that turn your damage off automatically for any reason. I can't think of any off the top of my head, but it's better than "uh your mods are the problem duh" that people so helpfully reply with right off the bat on ANY bethesda game.

Can you hurt enemies ? I had a similar issue after installing a CC item that was no good, but it was clear to me my game broke as i could NOT hurt enemies (they were Godlike too) and i could not enter some game locations but rather walked right through the buildings.

Removing the CC and reloading older game cleared the issue (the CC was the Settlement Ambush Kit)

Oh wow, after 2 or 3 years! Haha.

@Credible_Joe, I am not too sure if I had Workshop+ at the time but I do think that that may have been the culprit. I vaguely remember that it fixed itself after I took out all the mods that I had and that I also came across the fact that it could have been a bugged workshop god-mode interaction! Thank you for the response! I'll now keep an eye out if any of my workshop related mods have a similar interaction! :)

@Zotliatlicor, I do not think it was anything to do with the CC item. I was the only thing that was invulnerable, as everything else was killable. Thank you for the suggestion though!
