my monitor supports 144 Hz, so there is no limit or not? I want to play it in full hd
Pretty much the max fps you want is 60 anyting more than that and it can cause problems or at least that is what seems to be said about it, at least for this game.
this is why I have tried to lock nvidia to 60 fps - not successful
You also need to edit the ini files as well for that to work.
Also this guide seems ok, though I would guess you already had a look at it https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=553948156
sadly this does not help.
i have locked it with nvidia inspector which should be the same as riva tuner.
And I have edited the ini.
Nothing changed.
current settings:
iPresentInterval=0
bTopMostWindow=1
bMaximizeWindow=0
bBorderless=0
bFull Screen=1
iSize H=1080
iSize W=1920
ok, try this it may or may not help goto SteamApps\common\Fallout 4\Fallout4 and there should be fallout4prefs.ini there, make a back up and then try changing the values in that to the ones you have in your main ini file.
To be honest this should not be need it should work from the ini files in the my documents folder which are the ones you should have edited, but for some reason for me it did not take till i changed that ini file as well.
I have changed the values in both files in the same way and made it read only.
But honestly I have given up. Thanks anyway
In Fallout4.ini file, under general, write:
iFPSClamp=60
This is for when you see stuttering even if the games is running at 60fps already, its a common "fix".
Keep in mind this messes up the animation of the Vault doors opening (i.e the door won't open).
Might be a port issue? HDMI (not HDMI2.0) I don't think does over 60FPS when you go over 1080p.
This is why it's usually better to go DVI-D or, ideally, Display Port
do you mean in the fallout .ini??
yes.
i have tried:
[General]
iFPSClamp=60
Instead there are hundreds of switches that you can toggle.
100 entries in the ini. Some have effect, some less, some not.
Meanwhile I believe there is no real fix. This engine is such a f***
