Glowing Mushrooms... respawn timer? Locations also (Survival)
Hi folks... just started playing Fallout 4, and loving it of course, but I'm around lvl 18, managed to get the antibiotics early on luckily, but I'm wondering...

how often do they respawn? Do they respawn at all? Prefer not to use mods, want to experience this how it was released, but yea... thanks for any replies/tips.

I feel like some respawn and some do not. The ones around Red Rocket have never respawned for me. There are so many anyway that it does not matter, and I feel like Antibiotics are useless to craft, just save the few you find for early infections and go to a doctor for everything else.

Unless you really, really like looking for mushrooms or you're doing some weird RP thing, it's much easier and more efficient to just buy antibiotics from vendors.

I don't have time for RPing... but I could be doing it wrong considering I just started, but I just want to be sure I can craft them when needed is all. I'm finding a few here and there at night, but I'd rather craft them than buy them. I just dropped 3k on Overseer, and I feel real guilty selling some melons / puri water just to grab it early on, so I feel I should be punished... so I'm huntin' shrooms.

I'll try and throw some of those Clinics up soon in a settlement or two I suppose.

Selling purified water is easily the #1 way that people make money in the game. Overseer's Guardian makes almost all combat pretty trivial from then on, fair warning. Plus, always having every single survival need covered at all times isn't strictly necessary (or fun).

Yea I'm noticing it now with the Overseer's. The combat rifle was my first favorite weapon in my first half-way (made it to lvl 20 on normal, too easy for me, rerolled), so I figured I'd grab it after some research, and am trying not to look into much else... but yea, the weapon is just melting everything. It's not even much fun, but I'm still dying either way.

I'm already planning my next playthrough, I am not getting that OP weapon, not selling purified water/melons, would like to only craft my needs/wants, not buy junk from vendors to build/craft with. Figure that would make it more fun.

Ah well... I do appreciate the tips/replies.

If I'm doing a crafting-heavy playthrough I'll try to kit out a good set of Power Armor early on with the leg upgrades that increase weight. That plus strong back perks allow you to empty out at least two locations entirely of all their junk.

Survival has a long respawn timer, and if you get close enough that the area is loaded, it resets the timer...
Ones in settlements/vaults/other area that do not reset will never regrow.

Plants in Fallout 4 have the same issue that they did in Skyrim - after the first time you pick them, loading the game resets the timer for all plants in loaded areas. (Settlement crops work differently, also this may not happen the first time you load after restarting the game.)

That does make sense then.

What if I were to sleep for days outside the "cell" or chunks of areas, and venture back to them, would they possibly have respawned?

Yes, but if you do that you're likely to contract diseases and end up needing even more antibiotics.

Well, if it means everything, including enemies respawn... I wouldn't mind that. I read that it takes 30 in-game days for enemies/cleared areas to respawn; is this still true?

Also... stashing my Overseer's away for now and using a similar combat rifle... I feel less like a scumbag now.
