...Does not make sense. If you can't find the mod you want on Beth's mod site, and you refuse to use the biggest and most popular site, despite having used it before on another Beth game..
Go look on Nexus, or be happy with your manhands.
- Johnny Rico
No, modding is not "still kinda iffy" for FO4. Sometimes mods will bork your game, but in my experience it's user error 90% of the time. I'm currently running more than 10 mods, and know many people running nearly 100. In any case, I don't know why you think Nexus mods would screw up your game but Beth mods are totally fine. They can both cause problems.
Then why mod your game in the first place? You're making no sense. Try practicing some SELF CONTROL and either mod responsibly or play VANILLA.
I'm done for today on the forums. I think I read too much non-sense.
One of us, one of us
It really doesn't make a difference how many mods he's installed. If he's unfamiliar with the game's file structure, if he's a novice at modding this game, and if he didn't read or understand the mod author's instructions, it's quite understandable that he could screw up his game even after installing ONE mod.
Once he gets the hang of it especially after LEARNING the game's file structure and the difference between plugins, master files and replacers, he'll have much more success and many more options. As I mentioned in a previous post, he could cherry pick the hand meshes and textures from his preferred mod and just install THOSE instead of the entire mod. He'll learn as he goes, just like we all did.
Most of us have no idea what is and isn't on the Bethesda site. I've never even looked at it. There's no reason to go near it, we have the Nexus.
It's not that I was running you through the wringer, but more your comment about mods being "iffy." If you pay attention to what you download, like actually read the description, comments, and conflict warnings, you can literally download hundreds (255?) of mods and not have problems. There's nothing iffy about it.
