16:10 resolution with black bars?
I have a 16:10 monitor and play in 1680x1050. Are the black bars on top and bottom of the screen really back from Dark Souls 1? I just updated my graphics drivers, so can anybody confirm the same? The bars are as broad as my index finger. Can't say I like that very much... :/

I would rather appreciate if someone with a 16:10 could confirm this, or if I got some setting wrong.

I have a 16:10 monitor too. Add this resolution with "Cru" or with your gpu driver: "1866x1050".

Thanks guys!
Well, I guess I'll live with it then for now, until the community fixes their game again :/
Great gameplay anyway!

1920*1200 here, can confirm :(

both 1920*1200 and 1680*1050 are with black bars

Yes, there are black bars on my monitor too.

But it is expected. From have never once grasped such technical subtleties before. They probably never bothered with relative UI positioning and taking into account aspect ratio. The game just runs in 16:9, whatever you have. And no, based on their past history, it won't be fixed.

We just have to get used to it.

Same here, because of this ive decided to play the game in 1920x1080 with aspect ratio fix in NVCP. well untill it crashes that is.

Thanks for your confirmations, guys! Well, there is always a chance for ds3fix, isn't there? ;)

I have black bars too, but it doesn´t remove anything from the image, or does it ?
GewaltSam Apr 13, 2016 @ 4:44am
No, it doesn't, but it's not great to have a small monitor and not even using all of it. So I wanted to cross out that it's my own fault, or a settings thing.

Same here.
Running the game on 1680x1050 and having black bars in addition to a slightly blurry picture quality which turns me down a lot.

It looks like a 16:9 aspect ratio cropped into my 16:10 monitor strapped with black bars.

Same here, but from fixed it by letting me crash every 5 minutes so i don't have to deal with black bars.

Masterhummel, try turning your lighting effects to low, and/or (and I am not kidding), wear a helmet that hides your whole face. Could be working then.

The native (and in fact only supported) aspect ratio is 16:9. I am working on a mod for 21:9 support, it should work in reverse too for unusually narrow screens. But the difference between 16:9 and 16:10 is minuscule, don't know it's even worth caring about.

------

That came out wrong, before I get tons of hate. I mean you can do a driver-level stretch without worrying about the image being too distorted.
