DS4Windows = BAN?

With people getting banned left and right, I would like to know if I could get banned for using DS4Windows to get my PS4 Controller working with this game. I have NEVER EVER been banned for any game at anytime and I don't want to start now.

I've used ds4windows + borderless windowed since launch, no errors, no issues

I've already contacted customer support through the email address provided on the Dark Souls 3 Forums main page. I will post their response when and if they get back to me.

It doesn't directly affect the running on the game, doesn't alter anything running in memory and isn't detectable by the game.

3rd party applications are applications that directly modify the game in some way. Otherwise they'd detect ANYTHING running on your system that allows you to interact with the game (keyboard drivers and others) and recording software etc. and you would receive a ban for that.

This isn't the case. Just don't use things like Sweetfx, enb or DSfix or anything like it. If you feel you HAVE been targeted by a ban and have done nothing wrong. Then you can try contacting from software directly.

Every private profile is set to steam level 0. It's part of the, you know, being private.

No, no ban, I get tons of signs and every facet of MP works, but with all the threads popping up saying how they've gotten banned for 'no reason' , well, it's got me a little paranoid.

"No reason" = I don't have the balls to admit I cheated.

There's a false equivalency with all of these ban reports.

The game itself is buggy and will detect corruption that it performs on save files as something caused by a third-party. The end-user scratches their head and starts thinking about all of the third-party software they have installed and blames random software X.

You won't be banned for DS4Windows, but you may be for bad drivers in general. If the game continuously crashes due to drivers and corrupts your save files, that's playing with fire.
