CrossCode Puzzle Feedback
Hello everyone,

this is thread is to collect feedback on Puzzles in CrossCode. Since we will soon start working on new dungeons, I thought it would be nice to hear which puzzles you liked and which you thought where annoying / too difficult / too tedious.

Also if it turns out that a lot of people don't like some specific puzzles, we might improve those a bit.

So here some questions to answer:

Name up to 3 puzzles you liked most

Name up to 3 puzzles you disliked most

If possible, name us the area and room name of the puzzle (you can see those in the map overview). Alternatively, a screenshot works too.

Also some reason why you like/dislike the puzzles are helpful, too.

Thanks a lot for the feedback in advance!

Hello. I'm really loving your game. Great work! I found only one bug so far: in Fajro Temple, westchamber 1, after I activate one of the furnaces with ice all of them stop functionating. In general I really liked the puzzles. Only the timed ones I think that time is too strict sometimes. Best regards.

West Chamber 2 and the one room before getting the boss key were personal hell for me.... Once I knew how to solve them though, they were somewhat easy. i say somewhat because the boss key room(forgot the name) I still took several tries at it; I just could not get the timing right. Also quick question, where can I go to submit bugs? I found a graphical glitch in Bergen Village, but it's not that big of a glitch.

I'm not going to share the puzzles I liked the most, I love this game because of the puzzle so there are too many to share.

However, there were two puzzles in particular that took me way too long to figure out. The first was in Temple Mine U1 Great Chasm. This puzzle fooled me due to the nature of the simulated 3D, I pretty much face palmed when I figured it out I felt so dumb for not seeing it sooner.

The other other one was in Faj'ro Temple 4F Blazing Lair ( Here's part 2 that stumped me for a bit too). These two parts of the same room in total kept me busy for about 30-45 minutes. I had actually figured out how to do it in 5, but the puzzle is so precise that I couldn't nail it properly and was getting frustrated and figured I was doing it wrong so I tried different approaches until I said "screw it" and tried the original again and got it. Now that I know how to do it, I can solve the puzzle in one or two tries without issue, but that first time solving it took way too long.

Both of these puzzles are the only ones where I was scratching my head and thinking "how am I supposed to approach this!?!?!" but, there isn't anything I'd necessarily change about either of them. The precision required on the Faj'ro Temple puzzle is only frustrating the first time you do it, after that it's simple. I can't wait to see what other puzzles you guys have in store for us.

I love the blend of some hard, some simple puzzles, so don't feel like you have to make the temples easier, Faj'ro Temple was harder than Temple Mine, I'd love this trend to keep going and to see the next temple be harder than Faj'ro.

I purchased the game yesterday so I don't know much about the puzzles but I have to say that I love the way you guys implemented parkour puzzles in the game. You may want to review certain chests in some parkour puzzles though...

I was able to get the chest in the screenshot here without having to go around the cliffs on the other side and actually getting on the same plataform the chest is on, This was done by running on the cliff and then jumping and then clicking fast on the chest before it's name dissappeared.

Same situation on the quest "Sick trees" in the beggining of the game, The sick tree in the obelisk lake are can be reached by the same method mentioned above without getting on the same platform which I never found how to get on anyway...

I would just like to comment that while the rest of the game may be a top 10 favorite RPGs of all time, there's a few things that I really disliked and think it could be improved. Otherwise this game seems amazing, 8 straight hours of impressive stuff.

About the Puzzles.

The puzzles are pretty neat but there's 2 issues with them, the "Move The Pillars Around the Ice" puzzle is a classic puzzle with a classic issue, move the wrong piece and you have to reset or remove the pieces back in place, to then attempt to solve it again. Repeating the gameplay can get tedious fast. The main issue is how ♥♥♥♥♥ many of them are there, room after room in the first big ice dungeon, and with no real reason for them at all it's just "Puzzle Rooms". If they were better organized thematically around an objective, and less of them, with more progression than just puzzle marathon for hours, the dungeon would be far more enjoyable.

Anyone got the chest inside the hidden cave when catching the goat kid in the latest patch? It seems hard @.@

there is a harmless glitch that allows you to hop inside of NPC's beside a wall, just find an elevated area near the targeted NPC (like the trader in burgon trail, or however i say it) although i havnt found any glitches like out-of-bounds glitches with it, its probably worth checking out

I couldn't figure it out either.

I managed to get it but forgot how to lol haha
I can't name any puzzles which I particularly disliked. About 1/3 of the puzzles were pretty basic, 1/3 were a little more involved but only took about 5 minutes with a little trial and error, and about 1/3 had me stumped for 20-40 minutes. There's still a few boxes I haven't figured out how to get.

But I've been stuck on the wave maze puzzle for more than a couple of hours now, and can only access the upper middle and right and lower middle and right chamber. I don't think I'm smart enough to solve this one without at least a hint. Can anyone please help.

@Anaki Rob: Which maze are you talking about?
In the Zirvitar (I think that's the name) Temple. The one past Gaia's Garden.

I've liked the puzzles. Kinda like what the other guy posted, about 40% are instantly solved, 40% take a 1 or 2 minutes and 20% takes 5~10 and i usually feel dumb for taking this long. Pretty good lenght to give the dungeon a nice pace/flow.

I've really liked the puzzles requiring both fire and ice properties (not just lighting up all the poles with a specific element) on the fire dungeon, which required some melting and freezing. It feels nice using your previous elements to collect the new ones and due to having more things to take into account, it makes solving the puzzle more fun.

Something that i don't dislike, but maybe could be made to be more clear, is how the Wind Sphere changes direction when hitting through walls, specially on Conclusion of Walls where you can hit the corners of the triangle shaped pillars instead of the flat surface. Over time i got a better feeling of it, but at the same time there would be specific walls or combinations of walls that would make me get lost, in a sense. That said, i was expecting more traditional puzzles, so the "wonky" wave ball that "ricochets" in a weird directions was really fun for me.

like the others, I love the game, blublublub.
Im not as far in the game, cause I love to try out and search for things before I go on,
but there are two things till now:

1. It should be easier to beat Apollo in the first battle,
I tried it about hundred times till I found out how to beat him
- just running away all the time if you dont wanna die..
And all without a price ;/

2. What drives me more than crazy:
The cave of aspiration is tricky, but possible.
But the under 2 min time quest gets me every time, I'm just to bad..
Without the shield - no problem, but Im to stupid to get through the complete level without a mistake..
Maybe the time could save at the savepoints too, and if, you could cut the limit down to less than 2 min to keep a difficulty.

May......may I give an idea?
Can we get a puzzle which need to kill some enemies in some order? Getting the order from somewhere near.
I think it will be really a challenge to control the killing order
