How do I get out of jail?
A hog attacked me and my pawns killed it and city guard threw me in jail. what do I do now beside a reload? What can I do to get out of jail and any negative consequence?

First of all you stand at the door and wait for the guard to talk to you

And then when you get out you throw your pawn to the river

Hehe. Bribing is the only way to get out of jail you're telling me.

The other way is to just keep a couple of skeleton keys on you all the time. There's a particular chest in Gran Soren that always has a skeleton key in it, so I just keep myself stocked by checking back there once in a while.

You can also make skeleton keys with Shackles from bandits and ore dropped by goblins.

You only need one, actually. Once you get out, you're out you can re-equip (don't forget the jewlery!) and walk right past the guard. Assuming you're alone, of course.

The door is closed though until that one quest is completed I think, so you need 2 skeleton keys to open the 2nd jail cell with the hole. Sometimes there's a skeleton key in the jail hall though. Also don't kill the guard, because if you kill the guard and get jailed again, you are forced to reload checkpoint save if you don't have any skeleton keys

No, you can also wait for about 45 minutes of real-world time. Nobody in their right mind is going to do this, but the option exists. It's their way of punishing you when your cat walks over your keyboard and attacks a nearby NPC for you. Thank you Gizmo!

Game so good even the cat wants to get into the action!

Once your out of the cell you should know theres also a key in the gaurd room just outside the cell block. Behind a crate across from the gaurd. Theres also a consistant spawn for a key above the stairs leading to the.... upper castle area. Not inside the dukes castle area but out in the rich peoples area. Like with the cathedril and knights manor. One of the paths out of that area has one stashed above it. Pretty easy to see when walking up or down the stairs during the day.(in a chest)

Only if you intend to frequently break the law should you know that ;)

That or you go anywhere in the game with locked doors. Like BitterBlackIsl. Has a bunch of rooms stuffed with loot chests behind skeleton key doors.

I meant, the only people snooping through the guard's quarters would be the illicit law breaking type :P

Why is everyone questioning me of killing town folk? I play a game of kill as many before a guard catch me

protip - when you commit a crime accidentally (or not) immediately pop the Eternal Ferrystone, travel to anywhere, then back. Throws the cops off your trail, cause they dont care one bit when you get back.

i went on a murder spree in GS and never once went to jail this way. O_O

Also found out that many NPCs will repawn after you kill them, you just have to wait a few days.

AAAnd finally, after slaughtering eveyone in Cardassis, after a few days they came back and all still tell me how great I am, so the game telling us "killing people is bad and will make them not like you" seems to not be true.

Who says that? That's ludicrous. Killing someone won't make them like or dislike you, because they'll be dead :)
