Well the game surprised me, it was wayy better than i expected, pluzzles and atmosphere was good and worked well together, i didnt not finished the game yet, but from what i played, i enjoyed alot, i will keep playing for sure :)

“Face It - A game to fight inner demons” is a hybrid between a platformer and a puzzle game. Far from being the best of both worlds, I did enjoy its attempt at standing out with the inclusion of a “spooky” theme and story. At least the dev tried something different and they almost would have succeded if not for the fairly high difficulty, constantly forcing you into a rinse-and-repeat pattern. Glitches and crashes (quite understandable since this is still an Early Access title) also hampered my progress. And yet Face It is still a nice little indie game which provides plenty of value, given it’s relatively low price point and the inclusion of Trading Cards. I can’t disregard its potential either, once it shall get all those bugs sorted out in further updates.

+ Challenging puzzles.
+ Eerie game atmosphere.
+ Steam Trading Cards.

- Few but annoying crashes and glitches.
- No Achievements.

This game has it all ... well almost ;)

+ Atmosphere
+ Jumping puzzles
+ Easy to understand. You'll learn about the basic controls and can figure out the rest for yourself
+ Innovative gameplay

- The dark environment sometimes makes it hard to time your platform jumps
- Sometimes ghosts are just annoying and take some fun out of the jumping puzzles
- The same animation before / after each level can get boring

All in all a solid game with some room for improvement =)

By the way, I enjoyed the first "unlocked" level the most, it had the best combination of level design, background music, and enemies.

While the game is still in Early Access, it's a big NO from me.
Not much level to explore, the controls still have issues, the camera rotation is not smooth.

I'll see how the game will be, later when it's fully released.

Face It "A game to fight inner demons" is an Indie 3D Platforming game developed by Tlön Studios.
The strange and long title is due to the content and form of the game.

We take control of a character that makes a journey through life, represented in these dark and dangerous levels filled with obstacles.

While exploring the levels, texts/quotes (Aleister Crowley, Oscar Wilde among others) will show up introducing the player to the essence of the level itself, and how to approach them in order to succeed.

Of course to succeed we will have to face hordes of ghosts, spikes, and a deadly enviroment suspended in the void with the help of a flashlight, our jump skills and the "Sigils".

These "Sigils" are the core of the game, each one will grant the player an abbility, from double jump to invincibility, with them we will have to face the puzzles/fears.

For the extra challenge you can go find the collectable letters, well hidden in each level in order to unlock its harder version.

Thats 59 levels divided in 4 Worlds!

Overall, quite fun game, camera can be annoying until you get the hang of it, and some of the levels are a bit repetitive, but the game keeps challenging you enough to finish the journey.

EDIT: The developer has pointed out that this game has changed alot since my review and i should try it again, however i have no intention of doing that. I would like everyone to read other reviews though since steam will not be putting my old review further down since it is the "top" review. I dont think that is fair to the developer since he has put time into fixing his game. Give it a shot, because he fixed the things i complained about and added more..





OUTDATED REVIEW I LEFT LAST TIME:


I was really expecting a good story driven game. What I got was a really boring platformer. It has nothing to really seperate it from any other platformer except maybe the light? I didn't really notice a story in the first four levels (Level one, the extra level one, level two and the extra level two) and the platforming was incredibly boring, so I quit.

Alo after each level I played except for the extra level two, the game went in to a white screen that I could not get out of without opening the task manager. It didn't do it the last level but damn was it annoying.

I wouldn't bother with this game, regardless of how cheap it is. However, I'm sure this game will appeal to plenty of others and I won't fault them for that, I just personally don't think this game is worthwhile.

I have respect for every indie game developer for bringing their unique ideas to the table, but what the heck is this exactly? As far as I understand, the game's aim is to bring awareness to human emotions and how they correspond to specific situations. While I can see how that can be a neat idea, Face It fails to deliver the intended impact due to poor execution. It suffers from clunky controls, a very bad in game camera, uninspired puzzles and atmosphere, weird soundtrack, and an awkward concept. It's supposed to be a 3D platformer but it's more like a frustrating mess. If developer's aim was to bring awareness to the subjects I've mentioned above, he should've written them on his blog or something. There's no need to create a game for it. It's quite cheap but it's bad. Very bad. If you have any money to spend on this abomination, do yourself a favor and buy some chocolate instead.

Bustin' makes me feel... kinda mediocre, to be honest?

I got this game quite a long time ago, it seems, as part of some sort of bundle with another game. Forgot about it until it updated just recently. So, I decided to give it a go!

Face it is a puzzle (loosely?)/platformer that seems to revolve around facing your fears inside of your own mind. You control a little man with a big head, a flashlight, and the slowest run and jump combo you'll ever see in your life. Being this little big-head man, you will slowly plod around the areas to jump on platforms, avoid spikes and fires, and use your flashlight to dispel the sperm-looking ghosts that wriggle and whisper toward you.

The platforming in this game is the worst part about it, I feel. It's slow. It's unbearably slow. And, when you miss your jump and have to plod all the way back to the same spot to try again... It makes you very unlikely to want to give it another shot. You do have a sprint, but it's not that much faster than the normal walk, in my opinion. The jumping is floaty and unhelpful. The game doesn't make it clear, in some areas (as it does give the occasional 'try sprint and jump' in others), when the jump or the sprint and jump would work best. Sometimes, you just hold sprint while you're jumping and hope that you'll stick the landing.

The enemies are usually just mere annoyances that come when you're either in an easy place to dispel them or trying to attempt platforming. I really like the idea of being able to use the light to dispel enemies and it has a twin-stick shooter kind of feel, but once again... it's too slow and there's nothing dynamic about it. You hold the flashlight over the enemies and cast them back until they die. And, that's about it.

It's a shame, because the idea of this is solid! Exploring a persons inner demons and fears, spooky surroundings and music, and having a light system to keep them away? It sounds awesome! But, the slow platforming really holds it back, I feel. Speed it up a bit and let it get frantic. Make the enemies something to fear instead of something you just wait to be over so you can continue.

At it's current build, I can't really recommend it to someone unless you're willing to overlook all this stuff and play farther than I have. I'm sure it has something for someone, but I can't really play it. I wish the developer luck, however, and will continue to see what it has in store down the line.

I was badly deceived.
I thought "Faceit" is about CS GO.
