Sphere shot work fine as far as I've noticed and take up less hp. I let the players move on auto which is annoying but less stressful to me than manually trying to navigate (for me anyway).
Personally I think the first game balances difficulty with the the ability to win to make it extremely satifying the beat the Goers--even though I beat them more times than I lose to them.
Also, I think it's kind of strange that it's so important to you to have the trophy for Wakka but not care if it's earned or cheated for it. Isn't part of the satifaction actually earning that small scene in game?
Easy win
ps: Always use manual... and pass/shot (press X) when there is no one (or max 1) to block you (no "red arrow" in your circle).
Because at the time of doing it I didn't ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ know and I didn't feel like redoing EVERYTHING just for another shot at a mini-game that sucks
Everyone keeps telling me to use the Jecht Shot that I don't have because how the ♥♥♥♥ was I supposed to know that QTE did ANYTHING, let alone teach me a move that was essential to this poorly thought out mini game. But I found an autowin script lol
I felt like the first games after the tournament were actually much worse. All my players have such low stats, they cant even pass the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ball. The enemies can also simply grab the ball and swim across the field all the way to the goal, with my team's AI just swimming behind them, unable to do anything. Or they decide to swim in circles while the enemy scores...
If you were really OCD you would of learned Jecht shot and kept retrying until you learned it. It is your fault for thinking it was not important, while coming to the forums and whining about how you want Wakka to win. You do not really need the skill to win but, you have to try harder to win. Sooo... get off the forums, quit crying, and start practicing. "You can't do it kid." - Jecht
Quoting my own post because you don't need Jecht Shot to win, OP didn't have Jecht Shot, and everyone keeps saying "use Jecht Shot!"
But seriously, to anyone new to Blitzball, setting marks strategically during the halftime break can drastically make up for any shortcomings of your team.
Just don't forget to set the mode back to Normal once you score otherwise your opponents will have a chance at an easy goal.
That's why there is an "auto save" feature after every screen loading
