Can you beat this Summoner Lady
The frist few battles. I did not have any luck. Her Aeons are much more powerful than Yunas.

I never said I was going to use those strategies. I said the game can be beat without grinding. Which you insist it cannot. I don't even have any strategies. I will deal with it when I get there.
It depends on what you define as "beating the game". You can beat the main story without much grinding, without any grinding if you're skilled enough. To beat everything in the game though? That takes an absurd amount of grinding, period.

Now on to the only thing I have commented on until this post. YOU asked if the fight was beatable. It is. The problem is pretty darn clear when you can't move a second time, when Ixion gets 5 moves to your one, etc. Your stats are too low. How do we raise stats? GRIND. It's the only real solution to the problem you asked about. Yes, you can play as you like. But we have proposed the most viable solution to the problem you asked about. Do it, don't do it, I don't much care. BUT don't give us flak over a valid answer.

I'm going to add that this only counts for entering the battlefield. You can run away and it still counts. So if you don't want to grind exp, just run from a bunch of random encounters.
Also, in case you haven't seen this, it's an extensive guide on how Yuna's stats scale with her Aeons.

Not going to lie bud, but I one shotted her with Valefor's Energy Ray overdrive... Perhaps you need to spend twenty minutes grinding with Yuna?

A normal playthrough is with grinding, that is a part of FF. With the cheats you can already minimize the grinding if you want.

i used bahamut as he has allready hit expander and goes for 99k dmg with normal attacks.

Those battles are so easy.... got them on my first try.

How dare you cheat in a singleplayer game you've probably already beaten in 2001! (sarcasm)

i beat her the 2nd time you meet her, had to use 2 overdrives tho.
Moogle Of War May 17, 2016 @ 10:10pm
Belgemine is pretty easy to beat. She's trying to teach certain aspects of aeon battles so you need to focus those areas to beat her

Hm, the first summoner duell is on Mi'hen Highroad which features the Dualhorn, is it not? Well, my Aeons actually were the ones who dealt with the Dualhorns so their Overdrives came fairly quickly. And for the second... guess who dealt with these Basilisk enemies on the road to Djose temple? Yupp, Ifrit and Valefor. (And I used Energy Blast not Energy Ray. I find Blast to be way more powerful.)

Easy way : just build Aeon + Yuna's overdrive before the battle... then you can unleash TWO overdrives... and her Aeon will be dead...

That works only in the beginning. You will find her (that summoner) also in the temple above the Calm Lands where her aeons have way more HP. I lost yesterday against her Bahamut aeon, it had like 80k HP or something... I need to grind and level up more.

So? I beat the game too back in the day, I'm still doing grinding now otherwise it feels like have played half the game.

It depends on what you consider to be a "normal playthrough". I don't go out of my way to deliberately grind until postgame, but I don't run from the fights I do encounter, and I try to Overkill everything I can.

I also use e.g. the Magic Sphere in Luca on Yuna, the Strength Sphere I get from the Blitzball tournament on Tidus, the ones from lightning dodging I tend to spread between my main 2 physical attackers (or Yuna if I want to break the game with aeon physicals).

First Belgemine fight -> Blizzard vs Ifrit on Attack turns, Shield on Meteor Strike turns. Energy Blast when Valefor is in yellow HP. Done.

Second fight -> Summon Ifrit, attack on attack turns, Shield on Aerospark turns. Heal when you can. When Ifrit is in low HP or if Ixion casts Haste, use Hellfire. Did Ixion die?

If not, summon Valefor. Cast Water. Probably you're now in critical HP with full Overdrive. Use Energy Blast. Did Ixion die? Should have. If not, you're underleveled to the point strategy won't help.

Remium Temple is a side quest so it's not really neccessary for the story to beat Bahamut. On the other hand, you can easily beat him/it with (a customized) Anima or the correct Yojimbo inputs. Anima with two Overdrives. If you went to Remium, you're probably one of those players who does everything anyways. (Just like little old me.) So you should be equipped rather well by now or when you return to the temple.

The semi-mandatory battles for semi-mandatory items (for customizing/evolving Aeons) should end with Shiva. And that's all there is to that.
