No Map key item?

So... after departing from Besaid, I recall a Map key item being given out.
That's no longer the case?

Ok. Played past the full segment of tutorial battles now and headed up to the departure at the docks without the game handing out a Map key item.

So... was this removed, or did my game glitch out and for some crackpot reason skipped the scene where the Map was supposed to pop?

I'd really appreciate someone chiming in on this, because it would really suck to be screwed out of the map and potentially the end-game optional locations.

You get it after you arrive at the next island. I think.

It's not a key item. Try checking normal item inventory.

Yeah, it's a normal item, you can also buy spares at your local Rin's Travel Agency.
Assuming you want Rikku to mix them or something.
