Already beat FFX on ps2. Is it worth to buy just for X-2?
I have done my research, and I have mixed thoughts about this. I know the story/plot on X-2 is practically non existant compared to FFX, but at leasts it adds something interesting every now and then, right? It seems the battle difficulty hasnt been changed and it still remains fairly easy. I like the FFX battle system, but people say X-2 is even more "fun". For me, the definition of fun in a battle system is to make me think more. I dont want a game where I will just use 2 or 3 classes and beat every single enemy using the same patterns or the same abilities over and over again.
Since we are getting the international versions, do the dlcs add anything solid to the story? I played and beat FFXIII-2 and didnt have to farm for creatures to add to my deck. I just liked getting a little more of background story for XIII while having fun doing sidequests. Battles werent as easy as some people say, but thats because I never had to grind. Will I have a similar experience with X-2 and its creature creator system? Honestly I dont want to spend too much time on te creator feature and just want to focus on the quests.
Nostalgia plays a major part in my decision as well. Seing Wakka, Khimari, Auron, and the rest of the cast again and learning what they have been up to would be really nice to know.

No its a steaming pile of poo. Why do you think they bundled the two together? FF X is one of the better FF games but part II was awful and remains awful. I would have bought this right away if it wasn't bundled with X-2. Refuse to buy that crap, luckily years ago I could return in to Gamestation.

x-2 is better in almost every way over x. Insecure boys and nostalgia blowhards put too much behind 10. Most of the people that ♥♥♥♥♥ about x-2 never even played it. They saw the all girl party line up and was somehow offended and stopped there.

If you played it and disliked it, sure that's fine, your opinion and all. However, most people cite same the same tired reasons over and over just repeating what has been said for the last 13 years or whatever and tell you how bad it is, but never actually say anything.

Better in almost every way? Give an example then or two please.

I bought X-2 at release wanting to continue the story and its true I only managed a few hours of playtime before returning it in disgust.

IF dress up is your thing and weird Karaoke battles then yes I agree what a good game.

Fact: At release it was hammered by everyone. Noone gave a toss about a female cast the game just sucked.

It also ended my Final Fantasy purchases since FF IV.

X-2 is more "action"-esque that strategy in battle. But if you have already played FFX and don't want to rebuy it, you can most likely find a used copy of X-2 for much cheaper than the bundle.

I would not recommend X-2 to you, if nostalgia should play a major role in your decision. The game kills all nostalgia of X within the first minutes and does not build it up again except for maybe 3 cutscenes. The "old" characters of X also don't play a large role in the story (except for Yuna and Riku) whilde Yuna acts like a completely diffrent person in X-2. Regarding the story and dialoges, X-2 seems t be made for girls in the age of 8-12.
The mission Design of X-2 is similar to XIII-2: you have different areas wich are are visited several times and give varied tasks. If you enjoyed this in XIII-2, you will also do it in X-2.

Well this is my opinion. If you want to know, what others think, you can watch this http://steamcommunity.com/app/359870/discussions/0/364041517011862403/

Your mileage may vary?

I personally felt that X was the worst game in the FF series, while X-2 was significantly better. Many people don't feel the same way.

Her, i won't fanboy over my opinoin. FFX-2 is good overall.

FFX-2 is amazing with gameplay and mechanics.
-switch roles during battle.
-fast paced atb system
-new mechanics such as combo and transforming
-improved spells (can cast to single or as aoe)

FFX-2 the bad
-story, it really didn't need to continue
-some of the things seem tacked on, looking at you vegnagun

However, it does try to piece it together with the whole story and vegnagun.
I think it just took everyone by suprise that Yuna would change so much, i think in 2 years. I find it understandable, self-discovery kind of thing.

Wish we would have delve more into the process on how yuna becomes to who she is in FFX-2.

Thank you for giving a perfect example of what I just said. Also nice to see you fall into the category of both being insecure and a nostalgia blowhard.

I'll entertain your question. To me, it's better because it brought back the job system, expanded on it, all in a flashy presentation. That might not be for everyone but it doesn't make the game "awful". The combat is probably the best in the series as far as the ATB system goes. Took everything that worked in previous games and fine tuned it to something more modern. As much as I love the older games like 6, 7, 8 and 9, their combat was mostly bland and unenjoyable.

Gameplay wise, I find x-2 to be better in almost every way over x. Story and characters? That's all opinion and will be argued until the end of time. I can tell you right now though, X's departure from previous entries, making it EXTREMELY linear and basically one long corridor did it no justice. Not to mention the game is nothing but cutscenes with battles spread out in between until about 3/4 into the game. And with no skipping? Awesome.

I think both games are excellent, they did their own thing and I can respect them for what they are despite both having flaws. You can do what I did, express your thoughts and opinions about a game to make a point or argument instead of just saying IT'S A BAD GAME. Which is what most people do when they talk about x-2, they just say it's bad and never actually talk about it. Or if they do it's something along the lines of BUT I HATE THE ALL GIRL CAST IT'S A BAD GAME and again, it ends there.

worth it. FFX-2 great game. Many of those who are insulting the game, even not completed it until the end

FF X-2 provided a sh****tload of Paine, Rikku and Yuna hentai all over the web. Thats the only positive side.

I'd say get it, if only to try it yourself. Other's opinions are going to cover every bit of the range between great and worst game ever.

I'll never understand why people ask others if they'll like something.

One thing people tend to miss is that there is a plot reason Yuna acts the way she does, and it's mostly just the start of the game she acts that way. Things they are collecting alter their abilities and even their personalities. That's an early game spoiler, but a lot of people seem to think Yuna randomly became a wacky pop star just because. That is explained (even if it is bizarre on a very special level).

If you hate the battle system you can try raising monsters instead too. It's a complex system they added and it literally can pretty much replace the main cast, for better or worse.

They wouldn't know that because they didn't actually play the game.(even ignoring Yuna's growth as a character throughout X, everything that took place and how that affects her in X-2 which is even more character development)

I would say it is worth it. FFX-2 has a totally different gameplay which is funnier in some ways (such as the many dress-spheres). It may be hard at first, but you can really apprieciate it with practice. And there's a lot of freedom when it comes to the choices you have to make.

Plus, I found it great to be Yuna's POV this time. You can see her evolution since FFX and how she lived the events of FFX through her memories in the narration. She's a more complicate character than she may have seemed. You also discover how the whole population of Spira deals with the eternal calm.

Maybe it is not perfect, some even say that it is the worst FF, but I think that none of them were. It is just different. Maybe you should look for some videos of gamers to make up your mind.

The Only Differance That I Can See Is That The Graphics Are Pumped Up A Notch And The Menu's Look Differant. And The Game Music Was Re-Made. And It Is HD. Thats The Only Major Changes
